OT: Delivery
My wife is out of town this weekend, and I'm having a quiet night at home with the dog and a couple of beers. Unfortunately, I've run into a problem. I'm out of beer. I finished the scotch last week and I don't keep any other liquor. I've had too much to drive, but I'm not quite drunk.
If I was really hungry, I'd order a pizza. Hell, if I was a sick asshole with an intense desire to get an STD I could order a "friend" on Craigslist. However, I can't order beer or liquor.
What else would you order for delivery if it was available?
Some places have those services where they'll deliver food from places that don't deliver. Get yourself something good.
...there aren't any in NY.
And for when I'm in Michigan, I would want pizza or bagels from my favorite New York places delivered.
Nor are there any in DC, apparently.
I'll patiently wait for DC Wolverine and the other folk to inform me I'm wrong.
Yes, but you have Potbelly's ... you can't complain!
EDIT: There is a JJ's in Alexandria, VA.
Some places will deliver sangria with your meal, I think.
I guess this is an advantage of living in a place like NYC. This happens to me on occasion, so I can walk to the bodega right across the street, and scoop up some beer. Right now I have 4 anchor steams left in the fridge. I'm hanging out and reading my Hail to the Victors '10 guide.
I've been in one of those conditions where I was too drunk to walk. One of my friends once asked, "Have you ever been so drunk that you couldn't walk and had to drive?" My response: "Not as far as you know."
for even hinting that there was a chance you ever drove under the influence, especially giving an excuse for it.
Too drunk to walk? Call a cab and crawl to it. Too drunk to crawl? Hide your valuables and pass out where you are.
Seriously. Had more than one beer in the past hour? Get your keys away from you any way you can. Throw them away. A new set is a lot cheaper than a DUI.
I agree with your premise, but drunk walking actually increases the chances of death during walking at a significantly higher rate than drunk driving increases the chances of death during driving.
Superfreakonomics....
that that guy was not only drunk but was also tripping on serious amounts of acid or some such.
Either way, that was the video that introduced me to moustacheandmonocle.com.
he's either on Special K or Salvia. Both do a serious number on your depth perception and spatial awareness... Or so I hear...
That's quite hilarious. I'm sure I've had a moment like that... if I did, I'd hate to see the video!
It's all about demographics I suppose.
BTW, you said somewhere else you're trying to get to 20 points. What is it you're so intent to post a thread about?
I know there are Einstein Bagel shops in Florida. I used to go to one all the time in Tampa.
I lived in Atlanta for a year. Depending on where you are there certainly are bagel shops. Are they as good? Well, they're close enough. Einstein bagels, there are also a lot of NY transplants there, so I'd go to Buford highway and check out the international groceries (yes, because we Northerners are THAT foreign.)
Used to deliver beer?
Campus Corner did. Joe, their owner, would push the dollie with pair of kegs all the way up to campus.
I think they still do.
They do in East Lansing (of course), but it is ridiculously expensive, plus tip.
That's what you get for not planning ahead.
Not to rub it in or anything, but right now I'm drinking an ice cold beer, and my wife is in the shower preparing herself for an "All In for Michigan" night, if you know what I mean.
hahahah, alright maize and drew, funny, but probably TMI
