University of Alabama running back Dee Hart, 21, was arrested Sunday by the Tuscaloosa County Sherrif's Office and charged with giving false information and possession of marijuana.

Hart was booked into the jail at 9:20 p.m. on Sunday and released on a $1,300 bond at 10:33 p.m. Both charges are misdemeanors.

A sophomore in 2013, Hart compiled 78 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. For his career he has 166 yards on 43 carries.

I wonder if this is exactly what Saban wants. He needs to cut down the roster, after all.

UPDATE: Apparently Dee Hart hasn't been on the team since the January bowl loss to Oklahoma. (LINK)

2nd UPDATE: And Dee was using counterfeit money, too?!? (LINK)

Almost forgot to ask.  Is Bama going to ask for a refund on all those "bowl game" practice facility upgrades and the locker room remodeling they did at Dr. Phillips High School?

Satan plays within the rules and cuts people. We can't beat teams that have tryouts. FML and F Ohio.

Look at the current baseball roster and you clearly see 15 or so Michigan men needing to go by the time the roster is set next year. It's the way in which the SEC does it. You can be honest, which it seems like Bakich is doing, but when you trump up the injuries... Speaks to character.

You can't compare the number of baseball commits to the number of football commits.

An unknown number of current players on the baseball team will sign pro contracts before using all their eligibility and an unknown number of the high school commits will sign pro contracts directly out of high school.

From 2006-2014;

Alabama signed 255

UofM signed 199

This does not account for students who did not make it academically, like Dorsey. This is based on ESPN signing day numbers.
