This is one member of the "Palmer 3", a group of comedic University of Michigan students acting on the campus of the University of Michigan in the first video, and the University of Wisconsin in the second one.

It's clear that he has talent and the parts I found funny were when he sits down at the piano and starts playing a Vanessa Carlton song and when he's trying to sell exam papers to a girl and tries to seal the deal by throwing in that he's go erasers too. The computer center stuff had potential but just fell flat. And the rest was just filler.

A lot of the Michigan video is just street harassment, which presumably violates the University's Statement of Student Rights and Responsibilities whether or not it's supposed to be serious. The tour bits on the Wisconsin video are also pretty disrespectful.

In this era, it seems like the worst thing one can do, and one that seems to draw the most bile, is to try and entertain someone who thinks what they are doing "isn't funny."  Humor is subjective, and it seems to be human nature to want to be the sole arbiter of what is and isn't funny.

OTOH, I almost always applaud efforts at comedy.  At least the person had the fortitude to put it out there.

I think there are lots and lots of lemmings around here.

Just look at all the people who have adopted language like Tacopants, Ohio, Fergodsakes, etc.  There are some individual thinkers, but I think they're vastly outnumbered by the lemmings.

You can criticize how lemming-like people are here but using Tacopants or Ohio doesn't make you a lemming like we're following some kind of cult leader. They're funny.

Declining to use Tacopants or Ohio doesn't really make you an individual thinker. It makes you an MGoHipster for thinking it does

Right--there is a big difference between passing off opinions of others as your own, often misinterpreted ("Taylor Lewan has donkeyed every DL he has ever faced!" "Greg Mattison is infallible!!!") and trying to share a semi-inside joke with other members of the blog based on a common vocabulary.  I would note that although some uses of the common vocabulary lack inspiration--I am just as guilty as anybody--a number of posters do bring original twists that go way beyond just rote repetition of "boo boo",  "Thor!", and the like.

Didn't want to disappoint, and 1st rule and all that.

I downvoted this one because the worst defense for being downvoted is saying "it's because I speak facts/truths/think for myself".  Especially when nothing you state is "fact." In your experience most people like it. It doesn't mean it's a fact that a majority do.  Neither does the fact that it has 130,000 hits. That's not a lot for YouTube, and something like Two Girls and a Cup has been viewed by far more, but I doubt people were "enjoying it."

Doesn't mean what you were saying couldn't be true. Just that neither one of us really know if it's universal or not.

People here don't realize that other people not on this board have a different sense of humor. Sorry if having a different sense of humor is something that isn't allowed on this board. Also when I said its popular on youtube i wasn't referring to how many views it had but rather the amount of likes compared to dislikes.

I am very indifferent about the video. I think its ok, not great, but not as terrible as most of you think.

What I do find hilarious is the views some of you express about the video like the whining about the video being disrepectful. Hello, you dont think that was what he was trying to acheive? That is what makes the video somewhat funny. The jokes on you for being such a tightass...

I think that he was trying to be funny, which is different than trying to be a douche. But when he was interrupting tours, all he was doing is the latter. Pointing out that someone is being a douche is different than whining about it. Please return to this post in a few years when you're an adult and you'll see my point.
