Michigan's own Meryl Davis just won Dancing with the Stars. She is a University of Michigan student best known for winning the Olympic Gold in ice dancing with fellow Wolverine Charlie White.
She won Dancing with the Stars with Maksim "Maks" Aleksandrovich.

Figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi was on DWTS before and they all made a big deal out of how different dancing is from skating. I was skeptical, I thought it still gave them somewhat of an advantage.
line of thinking, I'm of the opinion Davis should go to Red and ask for a tryout/walk-on spot on the Michigan Hockey Team. She does have the advantage of being a good skater going for her, right?
Hell yeah, anyone who's seen Mighty Ducks knows that figure skaters can play hockey.

was that she tamed Max, the bad boy of the show. They were transfixed by the chemistry established between the two. [Friendship? More than friendship? The soap side that keeps 'em tuning in.] She with her hypnotic magic leads the Russian Bear to his first win in 11-12 tries.
All I can do is annoy them with Kimmy Gibbler joining Candace Cameron jokes.
Fortunately my misspelling of Maks proves I'm still not quite an addict. (Former dancer with female card watching this year to see Meryl and Charlie. He got robbed, by the way. But not by Meryl.)

I watched the last few minutes to see who won...first time ever.
They can make a lot of money...several hundred K and the publicity is huge. I'd guess between the two of them, they made half a million.

Did you not watch the Olympics? Honest question, because Meryl has a very unique look.
Also, I'm like several others here that only watched because she was on. My parents -- I've living at home while I study for the Bar -- switched the channel from the Heat-Pacers game (I switched to a feed on my computer). I was going to leave but then realized that it was her.
I don't watch the show, but it seems like athletes win a lot. People with exceptional balance and body control.
