OT: Dan Lefevour/NFL prospects?
I've seen this kid play at various points on tv over the last 4 years, but I guess I never really took a close look at stats/size. Is the kid really 6'3" /230+ as ESPN lists him? That would be ideal pro size, wouldn't it? That's about Henne-esque, if true.
Anyone seen a fake 40 time on him? Given the rushing stats he's put up (stat-wise, he had a damn-near tebow year as a soph - 27tds passing/ 19tds rushing with over 1000 yards), i'd imagine it's pretty decent.
Where do you guys see him ending up (if anywhere) in the NFL? I could actually see him doing pretty well with Denver, Cleveland or San Fran.
he and Jake Locker could be really interesting pro projects, due to their dual threat nature, but great potential as throwers.
anyway, just a random gameday thought.

He is really that big and quick. He towers over his RB's although they tend to be undersized in the MAC so not sure how much that means. I've watched him play several games over the years as well and he is definitly impressive. Would have been a good player in Michigan's spread with his dual threat capabilities. The NFL draft projections I have seen range anywhere from 1st to 3rd round. I would maybe add Oakland to that list but I wouldn't want to curse anyone with that situation.

He seems like a mid-round pick, like 2nd-3rd, though he might move into the bottom of the 1st if he shows well at the pre-draft camps. He's been a good player for a couple of years, and he certainly has more raw skills than a guy like Tebow, a player some pundits are projecting as a 1st round pick (though I have yet to hear a compelling football reason for this).

i don't buy Tebow as an ideal NFL 'thrower'. yeah, the guy is tough as nails and is a load when he runs the ball, but it's quite possible that a lot of guys under the radar are better prospects as passing QB's.

That's possible...I think chitownblue's amazement is more with the "certainly" part than anything. Lefevour might be better, but not "certainly."

Tebow roughly the same number of yards, the same percentage, more TDs, and fewer Picks last season against far superior competition. You can't make that argument without making it against Dan LeFefour as well.

Having watched him for a good 3 years (2 in person) I'd have to say he's got a lot of potential. If there's one thing that the MAC is good at, it's QB's and coaches. He is a very big guy and is pretty quick for someone his size. He doesn't have the breakaway speed necessary to run at the NFL level, but he can scramble if needed to make time.
You have to think, he came out of Highschool as a 2-star. To build himself up like that and possibly make it to the NFL is pretty amazing. He'll find himself on the roster of some NFL team, possibly with a chance to start down the line.

Not only did he come out a 2-star but he was MAC freshman player of the year. He has been doing it for 4 years. A good reminder that recruiting rankings aren't everything.

He didn't really need to "build himself up." His team didn't throw the ball much when he was in high school, so recruiters didn't get to see him do much.

6th/7th rounder than a 2nd/3rd rounder. He has marginal arm and his playing style will not fly in the NFL.
