To me this is a no brainer!!! Even with the lack of depth on there roster at the running back position we could easily use a draft pick on a decent rb or pick one up via free agency. Our defense needs all the playmakers they can get, regardless of his last last 2 sub par years and 6 children with 7 different girls..... He would fit right in I think. Anything 3rd round or higher I would say hell no but a 4th or 5th is worth it to me.

What are thoughts from the die hard Lions faithfull?

Good idea but it sounds familiar for some reason, almost like I have heard it before somewhere. If Detroit doesnt take this deal send him to Pittsburgh. Our DB's didnt get an INT until the last game of the year.

Looks like something decent may come out of Kevin Smith's injured second half. Mo actually ran pretty well in Kevin's absense and is a great receiving RB to compliment Beanie.

I still haven't given up on Kevin. If he can recover from the surgery, he should be able to take advantage of a much improved passing game. If Mo goes, in addition to a RB, the Lions ironically need to draft a WR.

"That may not be necessary if Detroit plans on signing someone like Chester Taylor." At this point, I'm not sure Detroit can count on anyone coming here, unless they really pour out the dough.

watching the Lions D playing 10 v 11 on running downs. I'd say Cromartie is the worst tackling corner in the league, but you have to attempt to tackle to be the worst. All the physical gifts in the world, but mentored by neon deon, so he plays very soft.

I think its 6 kids by 5 women in 4 states. Its been heavily covered in SD because he was behind on his child support to one of his babies mama's.

Jim Schwartz is a very, very smart man and I stand behind any decision he makes 100%. If there's any credence to this, which I doubt, then I'm all for it. I don't see us making a move for anyone who will eat up significant cap space - sans our first rounder, of course.

This would be great. Couldn't we say that Cromartie's talent level is at least at 4th or 5th round levels?

Although, I would say that the heart of a 4th or 5th rounder would probably be better because they would want to prove it every day in practice and in games. Also, as much as I love Detroit - he's coming to Detroit. I'm not sure how motivated he's going to be feeling for playing for the Lions.

Still, I would do it.

Arizona is putting him on sale like he's a rotten apple. I'd be wary of why they're giving him up so easily...there has to be some issues that may be behind this. Unless, of course, it just has to do with cash.

I apologize, I meant San Diego. Well, I didn't mean San Diego, but I confused my Comartie's.

But, in any matter, I think my point is a valid one disregarding the team I mentioned originally.

But I think this is a bit reflective of the current value of Cromartie around the league. Teams don't just give up good players for a perennial backup running back and a 4th or 5th rounder. Given his past production I think it's worth giving up Morris for him, but don't be surprised if he gets here and sucks.

Really it is a good deal if he can managed not to totally suck. The Lions of course need to rebuild almost everywhere, and we're not going to be able to draft a bunch of stud young players in one year or even two years. Additionally there are only so many free agents on the market, so we can't go out and get Woodson and Revis as our two corners.

If Cromartie can not suck for 3-4 years and provide some INTs and avoid too much blown coverage then it's a good deal.

Maybe all Cromartie needs is a change of scenery and someone to push him a little. I'd say for the price, it's worth a shot, at least. Regardless, they are going to need to draft or sign an RB. I'd love to see them use their 2nd round pick on Jahvid Best.
