Effin' sponsors.

Hopefully the Big House doesn't get renamed one day to the "Built Ford Tough Stadium" or "Chevy: Like a Rock Stadium"

And who the hell is proud of winning a ".com" bowl?

It's not like the place is going to lose its "folksy-old timey" feel due to this.  The Bubba Dome is about as corporate as you can get regardless of its name.  Changing the name is but a tear in the salted sea.

Jerry Jones purposely built the most expensive NFL stadium ever, purposely built the biggest HD screen ever built at that time just so he could claim to have the biggest, and screwed over several hundred Super Bowl ticket-holders in an ill-advised attempt to have the largest ever Super Bowl crowd ... and now you're mad about them selling their soul?  Not sure they ever had one to begin with.

Certain stadium names will always stick in my memory, whether or not they are currently accurate.  Cowboy Stadium is one of them.  Some others:

Pac Bell Park

Enron Field

Comiskey Park

Candlestick (football version)

Comiskey for sure.  The Tigers have been playing the Sox this week and I still would not be able to tell you the stadium name there.

Well...Well...Well

As a White Sox fan I still call it Comiskey, but many have nicknamed it "The Cell" (U.S. Cellular Field). I don't think there was too much outrage at the name change. Of course on the other side of town Wrigley Field has retained it's original sponsor's name for it's entire lifetime as far as I know.

Pac Bell and Enron?  Yeah, corporate names suck!  We should go back to the ORIGINAL corporate names!  :P

Better examples would be Rogers Centre (nee SkyDome) and Progressive Field (nee Jacobs Field).

Selling the naming rights to AT&T sounds like just about the most Jerry Jones thing Jerry Jones has done in a while. Next up, throwing his head coach under the bus while making aggressive yet confusing comments about Tony Romo.

I saw an interview where JJ was talking about essentially a $100, 000 a day mortgage payment plan. Guess financing a multi billion dollar complex can get a little hairy.

The NFL is a buisness that doesn't bother to hide behind the pretense of "amateurism."  When they started charging $9 for a draft beer (see link below), they pretty much let the world know they were going to recover the money they spent on the stadium ASAP.

If I was a Cowboys fan, I would be a lot more pissed about the beer than the name on the stadium.

At some point it'll go from stadiums to team names.  It's a slippery slope, people!  We're gonna be watching the Dallas AT&T Unlimited Plans vs the New York Doritos Locos Tacos!

Infiniti Red Bull Racing--Formula One

RB Leipzig -- German soccer club

Scuderia Toro Rosa -- Italy soccer club(italian translation of Red Bull)

FC Red Bull Salzberg - Austrian soccer club

EC Red Bull Salzber - Austria hockey

EHC Red Bull Munchen - German hockey

Red Bull Brasil  -  Brasil soccer club

Red Bull Ghana - Ghana soccer club

there are a couple English teams in the lowest level with corporate names rather than city names as well but I can't remember them.

Already at the stadium. Not a big deal and atleast he sold the rights to an American company. These teams that sell their naming rights to Verizon Wireless and Sprint should be yelled at...

Kudos to the Bills (Ralph Wilson Stadium), Bears (Soldier Field), Chiefs (Arrowhead), Falcons (GA Dome), Browns (Cleveland Browns Stadium), Bengals (Paul Brown Stadium), and my Packers (Lambeau) for having souls. I'll even give the Lions half a soul because their sponsor is inherently connected to the team.

ED: Apparently the Browns play in FirstEnergy Stadium? Groovy.

Seriously, has anyone been in that place? The TV over the "bar" is a 12" RCA cathode ray tube model from the late 80's. I'm pretty sure it has a VHS slot in the bottom, so that's cool.
