OT: Cornhole (Bags) Tinkerbell

Submitted by HELLE on

I have an uncle that is REALLY into Disney. He made a Bags/Cornhole Game that has a large image of Tinkerbell on it. I guess if he's into it and wants to use it for a kids birthday party it's cool, but that's not the case. He feels that it is appropriate to take this to a Michigan Football Tailgate and I strongly disagree. I think he will get hammered by fellow Michigan Fans, the opposing team's fans and his nephew. What do you guys think?

No-brainer ... it needs to come to the game. Aside from the obvious humor potential, there's nothing more amusing than watching the facial expressions of a meathead whose masculinity is being threatened.

....and I say that as a man who uses Rainbow Dash as his MGoBlog avatar. Not only is it a unique take on a traditional game, it will challenge the latent insecurities of a fair number of people. I will say, using "cornhole" is probably the most innovative (and amusing) means to break down gender stereotyping that I have seen in a while. If I see it this fall, I will stop by for a round certainly.

Maybe Donald duck? Possibly Mickey mouse... Captain hook would be killer even though many idiots would confuse with captain Morgan lol. But Tinkerbell has that 10 yr old girl cache. So yeah this would probably be very funny but just hope ur uncle has thick skin.

My only thought is, are we far enough away from Orlando? Disney is viciously protective of their licensing.

But seriously, this wouldn't even get a reaction from me; I'd think the guy just has a young daughter and was desperate for a tailgate activity so he raided her toybox.

Instead of taking the time to neg every comment of mine and post half-trolling remarks after whatever posts you think you can find something to say about, why not just stop badgering me on here? Your obsession is definitely weird; you should take some time away from it and find something productive to do on MGoBlog.

That's hardly true. I don't "neg every comment of yours". I just neg the posts that needlessly reference your girlfriend, the posts that are needlessly verbose, and the redundant posts that I've seen you say in twenty other threads but you simply can't help but talk about yourself one more time, however that may add up.

You have 7k posts and a karma of 1. I can't be the only one negging you.

But we can talk about how we really feel if you're going to go all Regina George and claim that I have a biiiiiig lesbian crush on you.

If you really want to start talking about quality of posts, what's the last thing you've said that was anywhere near productive? Out of your first page of posts, I see two that are maybe productive. That's fine, some of my favorite people on here add little substance (and I know I always don't) but you have no room to talk on the subject.

As far as karma goes, we have the same number. Take from that what you will.

I'm all for an end to fighting. gajensen annoys the hell out of me; apparently I get the same reaction from him. I'll unilaterally "disarm" and offer not to respond to one of his posts or moderate anything he writes.

If he does the same, I think you've solved your MGoModeration problem and enhanced my experience here. From the looks of it, he also enjoys making threads about the NBA, I'll offer to remain silent in those threads of his in exchange for his silence in softball threads, which he seems to hate anyway.

I get being annoyed by posters.  I may be the most annoying poster of all judging by the number of negative comments and grayed-out comments I get.  No reason for either of you to waste time "battling" each other online - I'm sure you both have better things to do and no good will come of it anyway.  I think your suggestion of a mutual agreement to simply agree to disagree is a good way to handle this MGoFued.  As a moderator, I want to make sure no one feels silenced because of over-the-top negative feedback.  Not that either of you feel that way, just saying.

Commence the negs on this post . . .

See if he can replace the current image with one of Kate Upton dressed as Tinkerbell, that's a win-win for everyone!

EDIT: Cue AC/DC's "Shot Down In Flames"

As others have said, who cares? It's a game.  However, it might make life easier for him if he becomes an ace cornhole player so he never loses to his drunk, homophobic challengers.

My issue isn't one of gender, but age.  I've always been creeped out by adults who are REALLY into Disney (or Harry Potter or Twilight, for that matter). Not people who enjoy the books or movies, but full-grown adults who collect all of the dolls, commemorative plates, salt and pepper shakers, and other various house-filling "collectibles." I've always thought, based on absolutely no psychological training, it represented some sort of stunted maturity in which the person can't deal with adulthood.

Of course, I'm also creeped out by collections of Elvis or Marilyn Monroe paraphernalia, various action figures, framed cross-stitch sayings about where home is or what to do with the cook, toy trains, dolls, or clowns (definitely clowns).

Now that I think about it, maybe I'm just phobic about tchotchkes. Never mind. Carry on.
