anybody watch World Series of Poker on ESPN? The 21 yr old is from the State of Michigan. He had a crowd of family and friends sporting the maize out, maybe his dad or friends went to Mich, not sure, but cool to see the maize out on the road and on the air.
OT but cool - youngest poker champ sport'n maize out
Must have been 20 people rocking UM-like shirts/hats. I say UM-like because they were clearly custom-made for the kid, but were maize shirts with the Block M and the Michigan font.
Hell, maybe he's a fan of the blog and is going to make a hefty donation to Brian and the noble cause?
That kid's just bluffing.
Me and my girlfriend were watching the news and she was like I think that kid went to my elementary school. She checked an old yearbook and sure enough he did. Kinda cool to see a local kid my age win the tournament. Even cooler that he and his family are Wolverines.
We don't need luck, we have moxie.
The freep's newest "expose" linking UM and gambling. Rosenpuke must be uh, overly excited in the pelvic area right now.
His family probably has an alumni connection if they are all wearing maize n blue. ESPN says he chose cards over college. Btw, the guys from my hometown, so this is pretty big for us. Biggest thing to come out of my town since John DiGiorgio of the Bills.
"I have no idea where the party in Vegas is going to be, but everyone is invited," Cada said. "It's going to be huge if I win the main event."
As for Michigan, he had another small idea: "Party at the Big House."
I would like to go to that party.
this should help recruiting.
Someone else on this board posted about this guy mid-tourney, at a point where he'd gained the lead in chips. Then the results were in the papers yesterday.
Even knowing all of this, I watched the entire thing last night. Watching this kid come from the bottom of the heap.... he was down to only 1% of chips in play at one point!... was terribly exciting.
Many, many kudos to Joe Cada. Very impressive.
