OT: Congrats to the Newest Wolverines!

Submitted by Zoltanrules on

This afternoon the first early decision applicants found out their fate. My daughter was amongst the lucky ones accepted and will be a third generation Wolverine! Without missing a beat she exclaimed, " Well Harbaugh better come now!".

The Daily ran a story with all the acceptance twitter reactions and it reminded me of one of the happiest days of my life being accepted to the greatest school in the land.

With the e-mail came a link and a simple and great video. Hope you like it half as much as I did:

Congratulations to all future Wolverines who received the good news today. My son received his acceptance e-mail this afternoon, and I couldn't be more proud.

To paraphrase a certain NFL coach whose services we seek: Attack your time at Michigan with an enthusiasm unknown to man.

Good luck and Go Blue!

I chose Terrible Ted for my username because he was such a fierce competitor on the ice while also giving back so much to the community off the ice, even to this day. He's a great guy.

Believe it or not, I once saw Ted Lindsay and Bo Schembechler sitting next to each other at the Joe. Talk about two of a kind!

for all of the marks he had on that mug of his.   the thing that most people don't realize is that 'terrible ted' is about 5' 7" and probably weighed all of 150-160 lbs in his day, but was tough as a junkyard dog.   great guy though, fun to listen to stories with.  i remember when he was the wings GM and i was playing for the jr. wings and needed some equipment.   one call from dad and i headed downtown to get it.  not such a bad way to get supplied, and very gracious of ted.

Congrats to all those admitted today...  Truly am happy for all of you.  I personally was deferred, but I'm holding out hope that my stats will get me in the second time around.  Competition is absolutely fierce this year.  I've heard this was the largest early action applicant pool that they have ever had, and I've been roaming around on other sites where people have been sharing that they got 33+ on the ACT with competitve GPAs and were deferred.

It was heartbreaking reading the deferral, but I understand the circumstances and where they are going as a university.  I won't be surprised when in 15-20 years they have the same acceptance numbers as the Stanfords and Vanderbilts of the world.

My oldest son is graduating this spring from Ross and he is so proud of Michigan, coming from out of state. His enrollment turned me into a huge Wolverine fan.

Now I am lucky enough that my younger son was accepted yesterday !

Eight straight years of a son enrolled. The two boys and our family are over joyed and blessed

Lots of pressure after both brother and sister got accepted before me. Jumped around and had a tear when I read "Congratulations". And here I am a semester away from graduating! Congrats to your daughter!
