Except for this statement:

New recruit Conellius Jones, a former Michigan signee, is a player. He has great potential as a wide receiver and playmaker.

A little underwhelming considering we were recruiting him for QB

He was in the same class as Devin Gardner.  We all pretty much assumed he would play something other than QB, and Conelius even admitted that he would play whatever position Coach Rodriguez wanted him to - whether it was QB, WR, or DB.  Rodriguez offered him early, and it seemed like Jones felt a special allegiance to Michigan's old staff because of the early attention they paid him.

Not a judgment or invitation for debate, but I think a difference between RR and the current approach is that RR would recruit atheletes and move them if necessary Hoke recruits guys who don't need a transition. I think this is most important on D. I prefer a kid that knows technique but is prepared to hit as opposed to learn how to do so. As someone who believes that D is the key to success I like the approach

I thought that even though Jones was listed as a QB, it was relatively well known that we were recruiting him as an ATH with the high potential of him switching positions.   Regardless, good to hear that he's doing well at Marshall.

The amount of players in recent years that never made it here may have ticked a lot fans off here recently but I wonder has the numbers been that different from previous coaching staff's?  The recent posts about all of the players that have left the secondary was alarming, to say the least.  While I was looking the chart over, the whole time I was thinking, I have seen this before but in a different format and it bothers me more when seeing it this way.  I have to admit that the loss of Cullen Christian really bothers me because of the fact that wtih the amount of injuries that have transpired in recent years, he must have really not wanted to be here.  That to me is what bothers me the most about the any defections.  I don't know any of the situations but after a year of making friends and getting to know the team and then decide  to leave?  It is not like the next job is just going to be given to you....

Anyway,  I asked the question about the previous coaching staff's commitments that, for whatever reason, did not make it to campus.  Who can fill me in on that?
