Anyone else watching the ESPN 25-hour marathon? I for one am glad to have basketball back in my life even if there will be no NBA.
Good games all day but three huge marquee matchups tonight. Discuss the games here if you're watching.
the Memphis game as well as Duke-MSU and tOSU-Florida. Those should be the good big name games, I'm looking forward to them.
I was wondering why there was live basketball on ESPN at 7am this morning.
I'm torn on who to root for tonight, Duke or MSU?
Take comfort in the knowledge that one of them will lose.
Whatcha gonna do, little brother?
Duke, if only for the fact that he'll set the wins record against MSU, and we won't have to hear about it quite so much anymore.
I'll start with my suggestions, responses are encouraged.
-Shot of hard liquor for every dunk
-Drink every time the marathon is referenced by the commentators
-buzzer beater (shot clock or game clock) shotgun a beer
-Too late now (would have only worked for the way early games) drink every time a sleeping person is shown on screen
-Cheerleaders: drink
-Missed FT: drink
Good thing I have a kegerator. Thats a lot of drinking over 15 hours.
Whatcha gonna do, little brother?
The missed free throws alone will be enough to send most under the table.

I cant wait for the games tonight. I think MSU will give Duke all they can handle, and the Fla/OSU game will be great as well. But the game Im excited about the most is Kentucky/Kansas. That should be a battle.
THOSE WHO STAY WILL BE CHAMPIONS
Michigan and Syracuse destroy in their openers.
All is right in the world.
Syracuse '03, Michigan G'05
Space bitches, space.
Kent St looking like world beaters right now. A couple of authoritative dunks. Lots of energy

The Gonzaga Washington State game was good a good one to start it off
I don't know who's hair is better, John Stamos circa Full House or Denard
GO BLUE
Tipoff in five minutes. This should be an interesting scout game for us. Memphis is our first real game. Belmont was legit even before they almost upset Duke to open the season. Should be a good game. We probably want Memphis to win for our SOS sake.
Whatcha gonna do, little brother?
Memphis up 7. Anyone got some info on them?
Highly ranked, athletic team. Play good defense. Considered to be poor offensively. They shot the ball terribly last year. A lot of people are calling them overrated.
Whatcha gonna do, little brother?
Kenpom puts them in the same arena as us. They're ranked 25th, we're ranked 30th. Personnel-wise, they are composed like a typical post-Calipari Memphis team. No single "star" player; just a great bunch of athletes. Wes Witherspoon is their best player. Will Barton and Adonis Thomas are pieces any D1 team would love. Weakness is certainly at the free throw line, if nowhere else.
Another person hurt from those deadly stickers on the court. I have never noticed these injuries from the stickers like this year has shown. They will do something about those this year...
Live every week like it's against OSU.....
Memphis is going to give us so many problems on offense, they are way more athletic and long as hell, it should be a good game but we are going to have to get out in transition in this game, i see our half court offense getting really frustrated.
Baylor is super athletic. SDSU returns noone. This shouldn't be close.

Here are my thoughts:
Memphis LOVES to run in transition, and when they do, they are very, very good at it. Their whole team can run the court and finish at the rim. Eliminating bad shots/turnovers that lead to fastbreak opportunities and getting back on D will be key.
In the half court set they still looked like they have a solid offense, although they try to rely on their athleticism (which they have a lot of) moreso then ball movement and off-ball screens. Help defense will be critical on their drives, as Joe Johnson (their PG) has a very quick first step. Also likes to look for the help coming off the 4/5 and find the open big man for an easy layup/dunk.
Has a good defense, especially in the paint, although it looked like Belmont at times was able to catch players sleepign to set up an open shot.
I think the game will be decided by who dictates the pace of the game. If Michigan tries to play faster and run, we will be screwed. Instead we need to force them into a half-court game and see how they respond to the slow pace.
Yet again limiting turnovers will be huge, did I mentioned they love to run?
The Michigan Difference. Oh yea, it is real.
Something about Burke physically reminds me of Kelvin Grady.
