OT: College fantasy draft help
My brother, a casual college football fan, has enlisted my help in his CFB fantasy draft taking place this evening.
My knee-jerk reaction was GET ROBERT GRIFFIN...question to those who know more than I. Is he healthy this year? If you were making recommendations, who do you make a priority? Kellen Moore? Although, this may be limited to BCS only conferences. I will confirm.
Thanks and 19 FUCKING DAYS, HOW 'BOUT IT! GO BLUE!

Dion Lewis, Ryan Williams, Trent Richardson/Mark Ingram
QB: Mallett, Keenum, Garcia

With Darren Evans coming back healthy for VT this year, I'm not sure if Ryan Williams is going to come close to his insane freshman numbers. I'd take Clay before Williams.

Clay is a awesome pick as well. Personally I'd take Williams because Taylor is a terrible passer, but can't go wrong either way.

Thanks y'all!
any chance trent richardson gets enough carries to cut into ingram's numbers signaficantly?

Jake Locker was left on the board for a surprising long time in my league. I think everyone forgot about him since he plays for Washington.
The fact Michigan lacks a clear #1 QB and RB really messed with my homer based picks this year.

So he has the #1 pick...who would you go with? Keenum, unfortunately, is out as it's from the following pool:
SEC, Atlantic Coast, Pacific 10, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12 and Independents Teams.

What kind of point system are you playing under? Pure yardage, points system, PPR?

I think Jerrod Johnson will put up better numbers than Griffin. He won't run for as many yards, but he'll throw for more yards. I believe he had over 4,000 total yards and around 40 total TDs. I really like Trent Richardson and I think he'll get more carries this year, but I still wouldn't take him early in a draft.

I'd say Johnson is a very solid choice. Plays in a relatively weak league and put up good numbers. Figure out what weeks A&M plays good defensive teams (Texas, Nebraska) and draft a backup QB who plays easy defenses on those weeks.
Also I'd advise he stock up on WRs. Less chance of those annoying -2s for Fumbles or Ints (WRs do fumble, but less than RBs). If the league lets you draft non BSC, Tulsa has two WRs on the Bilentikoff list and will likely spend most of its season carving up weak CUSA Teams.
It all depends on your strategy. I traded down in the first round and stock piled 2nd and 3rd round picks. I'd say you have a good chance of getting solid value from trading down a bit, trying to get a Top 10 QB or RB later in the first round and having more picks to spend in the 2nd and 3rd on depth, but that's just my way of doing things. Drafting a stud and riding him as long as he stays healthy is also good.

When I saw this topic, my first thought was "get Robert Griffin." obviously great minds think alike.
I think your best course of action would be to get a copy of Phil Steeles national magazine, and give it a quick run through to find anyone who is taking over good situations.

Last year in our league I had Colin Kaepernick and he had really solid weeks with a lot of TD's. My other QB was Russel Wilson who proved to be a pretty good dual threat as well. They both accounted for a lot of TD's. A sleeper pick at WR may be Austin Pettis, watch for a big year out of him this year at Boise after a very solid one last year.

Pettis qualifies as a sleeper at this point. Boise is ranked in the top 5 and has a top QB back. Sorry.

The guy is the closest thing to Mike Hart since Mike Hart, except maybe faster. As long as his tiny little frame doesn't get injured (and it hasn't yet), the Beavers would just as soon give it to a Rodgers brother every play until they each have 200 yards of total offense. And Quizz will probably be good for 1.5 TDs per game.
