We are back

You can't expect guys who have never been there before to act like they have. iMO if anyone needs to be humbled it's that lil punk Grayson Allen, he's shown bad sportsmanship all year, coach k should talk to his own players first.

wasn't even bad form, there was 2 on the shot clock and a 7 second differential.  The 3 he shot was from Spike range and was about the worst shot they could have got on that possession.  Nobody just lets the shot clock run out in that situation.  Grayson Allen is a punk and Coach K is all high and mighty. The Oregon player did nothing wrong, at all.

I think he actually tripped while doing that, which made it kind of funny.  Not a big deal either way.

He did celebrate a bit after his last three, but they were about to win the game.  Who cares?  I agree with the thought that he jacked up a really long three because the shot clock was going to expire.  Not even a misdemeanor in the world of bad sportsmanship.

I think this is right.  Duke is so entitiled at this point that it requires an instruction manual to figure out how not to offend them.

Come to think of it, the results are similar to Dantonio's near-constant feelings of aggrievment, even if the reasons Duke/Sparty are offended are completely different.

was my take, too. The guy jacks one (as instructed by his coach) at the end of the clock and it goes in, of course he's tickled. Is throwing up your arms to celebrate now illegal, too? And the guy was all totally innocent and affectionate with Allen afterward--as if there were something wrong with that? Allen's every right not to feel huggy right then, but that's not on Brooks.

Brooks emerging as a serious star, btw.

Exactly, if Coach K wants anyone to take him seriously, maybe he should have suspended Allen at least once for his tripping escapades. And then at the post game interview he says he never lectured the Oregon player. Well someone is lying, I'd bet it was Coach K.

I don't really fault Allen for not hugging the guy back since he hugged him like a teammate (don't expect the loser to be excited for you; try to be calm until you celebrate with the team).

But I do fault Allen for being a fucking douchebag

is that Coach K denies saying anything to him.

There should be a celebration each year when Izzo and Coach K are booted from the tourney; two of the whiniest winning coaches I've ever seen.

My take is he wasn't expecting Brooks to tell the media what he said so he was caught off guard. He then try to lie about it and say he didn't say it. Anyone who watched him say it live in the post-game could tell he was lying and squirming as well as getting a holier than thou attitude about it.

It might just be me, but there are teams out there where it really doesn't bother me if - when they are losing - other teams choose to pile on, whether that was the intent or not. Duke basketball is one of those teams. I get that some people - Krzyzewski included apparently - may think that it is poor form and I get that presser politics tend to dictate making nice, but it was fun to watch Brooks to put that shot down. If you ask me though, cosidering the time situation, I don't know why you wouldn't have attempted a shot there.

At first glance, I wouldn't shake someone's hand after a game if they pulled a late, meaningless three. But with the shot clock differential, I don't think it's a big deal. Kids shoot them late all the time at the end of a game when it's that or a TO.

Fuck him. Silent while his player repeatedly trips opposing players but chooses to make this innocuous play something to complain about? There is a reason America hate duke.

I hate Coach K and Tom Izzo. To of the biggest crybabies in sports. Everytime Izzo loses, I always wait for his patented excuse making. Although to his credit, after Huge was done lathering up Izzo's balls, like he always does, he didn't make any excuses. Quite surprised.
