OT: Closest beer to the Big House, discounted for MGoBlog, DRINK FOR CHARITY
Before, during or after the PSU game on Saturday, stop by the Cancer Support Community's Charity Beer Garden and save on a pint of craft beer flowing from 10 taps. You can also grab some Slows Bar BQ and a seat out of the sun and in front of a big screen.
Mention MGoBlog a the ID/ticket table and your $6 craft beer is $5.
Find it at 327 E. Hoover Ave., adjacent to Elbel Field, immediately east of the railroad tracks (used to be Purchase Radio Supply) and kitty-corner from the MMB's Revelli Hall
This and every game day, you'll find:
- 10 taps with local craft beers (plus bottled water, Coke/Diet/Sprite)
- indoor seating in the warehouse
- two big screen TV's for GameDay, pe-game, the game, post-game,
- family-friendly--bring your kids
- cash or credit cards
- bathrooms
...and 100% of beer sales benefit the charity!
Thanks, in advance, for the support of the MGoBlog community.
GO BLUE!

Nobody knows yet, but it's a gay beer.

September 23rd, 2016 at 9:02 PM ^

...and beer is awesome when it comes out of the closet, nice and cold....

Drinking beer isn't the only thing I do in a closet. But don't tell anyone.

Do you mean when you turn the lights off, close the door and play 'Who's In My Mouth?"
(Never heard of it)

Let's try that again...
CLOSEST beer, not closet beer. My bad

It won't matter now, knowing the blog. Now, you'll have MGoBloggers walking down the street with beer just to see who can, in fact, have the closest beer to the stadium. It's just that sort of place. Winner gets some free points if they can provide a photo, incidentally - that's how we'll make it interesting.

...but I'm up for some photos. Let's see 'em!
Just please don't try to leave the Beer Garden holding a beer, okay? It would suck to lose the special event license that allows the Cancer Support Community to make this possible.

Yeah, but do we know if there are any closets in the Big House?
September 23rd, 2016 at 10:03 PM ^
I don't often drink beer, but when I do, I prefer to drink for charity. Stay thirsty, my friends.

Is this a one time thing or will it be around for other games like Wisconsin next week?

The Charity Beer Garden and Slows food truck are there for the entire home season.
The series started slowly and quietly -- not much publicity -- but we're hoping to see MLive show up with a photographer this weekend. Before the Wisconsin game next week there may actually be a segment on WXYZ-Detroit.
Stop by any home game Saturday this (and probably next) season.

MGoPatio - still waiting on my little brown jug from your kickstarter many years back. Will I ever see it?
I would love to support this cause but I have been burned by your causes in the past.

OT but want to share:
The Red Wing pottery Company that made the original LBJ agreed to produce the jugs for the Kickstarter campaign. Just after the campaign ended, they announced they were closing. My email and phone calls went unanswered. Months later came the announcement that a buyer for the company was found but that they would close down production of large pottery pieces. I spoke with the new owner and explained the KS situation and he said he'd like to help but was embroiled in a copyright infringement lawsuit that only wrapped up this spring. Now the company is up for sale again and it looks like jug production will not resume. It kills me that I'm unlikely to see the jugs made and I'm embarrased that I didn't keep you and a few others better informed but I always thought I was nearing a resolution. I'd be happy, at this point, to refund your contribution. Email me for more info.

Nothing has ever sounded so good!
