Totally Off Topic, but if you're a Metro Detroiter, there's no better soap opera than "Detroit" over the past few years. From Kwame, to Monica, to Sam Riddle and Synagro, the Detroit area has seen the lion's share of outrageous scandal and corruption over the past few years.

As a long time Metro Detroiter, I've always thought highly of Pugh from the times I've listened to him on WJLB. Don't know how qualified he is to be in Government, but I thought at least he'd put a clean face on the city council.

Not a huge, huge deal, but c'mon, he crashed, drove home and didn't report it until days later...what do you think happened?

I expected more from Pugh.........The Soap Opera Continues!

I come here to get away from politics. Being in Florida, I didn't know who Charles Pugh even was, so I clicked. Actually, I still don't know who he is because the comments are more entertaining than the article would have been.

Charles Pugh is another fine exampe of what's wrong with Detroit. Detroit citizens elect people who are popular, but have no business managing city responsibilities. Charles Pugh was a good Fox 2 anchor, but the guy is in no way qualified to be council president.

A good example as to why he shouldn't be council president was the situation with his forclosure.

I understand that situations arise that can impact your ability to pay bills, but it begs the question, "Why did you leave your job if you wouldn't be able to afford your condo?" Also, the 11 prior eviction notices are troubling.

This current situation with the city car is another testament to the incompetance of city management.

Tend to agree with the above, I dont have anything personally against Pugh, but how do you elect a guy who was making 300K a year at one point but somehow cant make the payments on his condo. That level of stupidity would hopefully make a person unelectable in any sane community...

run at winning a seat, if he moved here, and wanted to. I think Kwame would also have a solid chance to get re-elected as mayor if it was up to a vote. Detroit's future is set in stone.
