OT: Car decals/emblems.

Submitted by BlockM on

Slow Saturday afternoon, and I could use some advice.

I'm thinking about buying my first car this week, and I obviously need some sort of U-M decoration on it. I'd like something classy and understated, so "kid peeing on buckeye" decal is out. Any suggestions? I'm leaning toward a chrome emblem, something like this:

Or a front plate like this if it will fit on the car:

While we're on the topic, what decals, etc. do you have on your car?

but I dressed them up with alumni frames for both the Explorer and the FZ6, and in a few weeks they'll be framing these bad boys:

I park them side-by-side, so it'll brighten up my morning a bit.

I have the "Euro" style Michigan sticker on the rear bumper, or at least that's what the M-Den calls it. It is a maize and blue oval with the "M" in the center, as well as the alumni license plate frame and the standard "University Of Michigan" decal along the lower portion of the rear window. The Alumni Association decal is in one corner of the rear window as well. Inside my wife's minivan,  there are "M" seat covers on the middle seats as well.

On my wifes van, we put a block M plate, similar to the one you have above on the front and had a rear window sticker that said "Got blue?".  They both got destroyed in the parkinglot of her job.  She works in South Bend, In.  Go Figure

I have a block M in my backwindow, with a state of Michigan University of Michigan license plate that is bordered with a Michigan hockey license plate holder. I also have a Michigan Alumni Association sticker in the back window as well.

I live in Buffalo and I see a Michigan decal or license plate every three or four weeks.  I want to honk, or hold up my Michigan hat too get their attention and share the Michigan love, but usually  just let the person go on their way.  What is the proper acknowledgement when they can't hear you say "Go Blue!"   Should I get one of those car horns that play the victors?

I've got a front license plate, a back plate wrap around, a massive football helmet that covers my entire back windshield for the most part, that isn't see through, two block M's on the back small windows of my Mustang, plus inside cup holder plates, steering wheel cover, seat covers, cd holder that's black with a massive maize M, and in my Jeep Grand Cherokee, I have a mat for the trunk that has a massive M on it. My mustang, lincoln, and grand cherokee are all decked out to the max. My mustang not as much since I just got it in December. My lincoln had the most, but then I gave it to my little sister and I think she took some of it off. Not the helmet though, which covers 90% of the back windshield. The grand cherokee has just about everything Michigan you can imagine for a car.

...that the rhythm of his heartbeat runs in perfect time with "The Victors (as written)", and that the "...and one" extra seat at Michigan Stadium is reserved in perpetuity for him.  All we know is, he's NOT The Stig...he's The Stig's undergraduate cousin in Ann Arbor:

(NOT mine...just an image I found from a biker whose heart is definitely in the right place).
