OT - Canadiens vs. Capitals: Cammalleri with 2 goals

Submitted by CalJr3000 on
Washington-Montreal box score Michigan hockey alum Michael Cammalleri's scored two goals for Montreal (less than two minutes apart) in the first period in a must-win for the Canadiens. That puts him up to four goals in the first round, along with four assists, making him the most successful Michigan alum in the playoffs right now

Rooting against the Caps, the team with not one, but TWO Michigan hockey alumni!? Just kidding, Knuble may be playing but Brendan Morrison's scratched again, so hate away. Meanwhile, former Michigan D Matt Hunwick picked up an assist on Boston's first goal in their game against Buffalo (whom you SHOULD be rooting against, thanks to Ryan Miller) so far. GO former BLUE hockey players!

has been an absolute beast in this series. Wow. Who would have thought this series would even be close? Hats off to the habs. (Yes that was a hint that Mike should get a hat trick)

Washington is not a playoff team. Their forwards play high in the zone, always looking for chances for odd man breaks. Unfortunately, a disciplined team like Montreal won't give those up very often in the playoffs. Outside of Knuble and Ovechkin, their top six is very soft and get bumped off the puck. Outside of Colorado, their defense is probably the worst collective unit in the playoffs. Mike Green is offensively gifted, but he gets frustrated easily and isn't positionally sound. They rarely block shots, which puts a lot of extra pressure on their goaltender(s) who aren't spectacular to begin with. The Capitals are the Pittsburgh Penguins of the 90's. Unbelievable top end talent, but ultimately doomed by poor coaching and shoddy defense.

what the hell Nashville? They had Chicago on the ropes, less than a minute away from going home with a 3-2 series lead but no they had to blow that and now they are down in game 6 3-1 looking like they are well on their way to getting eliminated tonight.
