OT -- Can a Wolverine wear green on St. Patrick's Day?

This morning while getting dressed, realizing I had no client appointments today, knowing it was St. Patty's day, I just could not bring myself to wear the colours of "little brother" so I went OD on Maize and Blue and have been having fun with it all day...

Cranky, long-time MGoBlogger, prone to shooting his mouth off from time-to-time, missing the days of the neg-bang and a proud member of the "06/30/2008 Club".

Yes.

I don't personally have any green, but it's perfectly acceptable. Take a look at campus sometime on the 17th.

Green does not rep MSU, and though green clothing may be lacking for most of us, I say find some and wear it proud.(Though to a small extent it does rep ND, we'll just let that slide)

In Chicago the insufferable Notre Dame fans are everywhere so I never wear green on St. Patrick's Day. Last year a friend had a party and she threatened not to let me in the door unless I wore green. So I wore this shirt around all day

I posted this picture on an earlier thread (but the thread was quickly knocked down mgoboard because of the OSU game)

Who says MSU can take that color and claim it as their own? I mean, it's a rather ugly color anyway, so of course no one would really want it BUT MSU, but that doesn't mean someone else can't use it if they want to, right? And while we're on the subject, what is white, anyway? It's not even a color. It's the absence of all color (or the presence of all color, depending on who you're asking). But clearly this means that MSU is irrelevant, and the color green certainly should not be automatically associated with MSU.

Not that I loved Rich Rod less, but that I loved Michigan more.

Just wear Maize and Blue. They make Green when you mix them but you don't have to look like a jackass and wear the color.

Getting ready for school today going through all my Michigan clothing I realized I had no green clothes but had plenty of options that were maize and blue.

for green St. Patrick's day Michigan gear.

Thought about buying it but forgot and now I can't find it again. Might be nice to have something like that around.

Additionally, Steve & Barry's used to sell Michigan gear in any color and it was perfectly acceptable to wear around campus. I'm from Cincinnati originally and enjoy getting strange looks with the red & white Michigan shirt when I go home.

This is Michigan.

but I actually own the top shirt and have worn it on St. Pat's past.

Right now I'm in green NY Knicks Jamal Crawford shirt - so I still got some wolverine love going on.

is the one day of the year when it's okay to wear green...unless it's a forest green...that's fine year round, but I really don't care for Kelly green.

I do have a St. Patrick's Day Michigan cap, but it kind of looks like a Notre Dame cap, MSU cap, and Michigan cap were combined together at the factory. :-(

People at work would always give me a hard time because I did not wear green on St Patrick's Day. Luckily, I work at home now. Guess I showed them.

Have on a blue pinpoint buttondown, blue blazer and khakis with a green tie. Prefer my gold ties, but hey, it's ok to lighten up for a day. Would never wear Spartanwear under any circumstances. Well, almost any. I'll really be in trouble if my daughter goes there for pre-vet. Even the admissions people in AA told her it didn't make sense for her to go to UM, given her career plans.

Another option is to wear something more traditionally Irish . . . cableknit sweater, cap, etc. Since I've got red hair and some Irish in me, it is hard not to.

IIRC, there is a poster who has an avatar of a very cute girl wrapped in the green/orange/white flag. Surprised I haven't seen that for some time.
