OT: Can the Wings Bring It Back to the D? (YEAH! WOO!!)/ Game 5 @ Sharks NHL Thread

Submitted by I Bleed Maize N Blue on

Same formula: throw pucks at the net early and often and go hard after them, work hard in the corners, skate, skate, skate.  Hopefully get puck luck, early goals and stay out of the box.

It's tough, though, facing elimination every game.

Franzen looked better at the start of game 4, but the announcers pointed out in the second period (IIRC) he was slowing.  Hope his ankle has improved, we really need him to get going.

in an additional unsportsmanlike conduct or diving call for the acting job. How many clear acting jobs is San Jose allowed before  they get called ? There is nothing to deter them from acting, without something being called.

Your wrong Thornton was called for the little trip on Franzen not the dive/acting job.

Your fucking blind if you haven't noticed the prevelant diving/acting by San Jose in the last two playoff series against Wings.

I've been an avid nhl fan for the last 20 years, but the officiating of the playoffs the past few years have me about to give up and boycott hockey for a while

just to be clear, the announcers on versus are actually San Jose's team announcers, correct? Otherwise, this is pretty horrible in terms of lack of bias.

Wings are too Soft.  I'll be the one to say it.  We need more North American players.  I keep seeing guys like Kesler, Legwand, and Canadian players kicking ass while our "Euro's" are hurt come every playoffs.  Our best player in this series has arguably been Todd Bertuzzi since he is willing to play a physical game.

Im starting to find it inescapable. The sharks just look better. 5 on 5, they are getting to the pucks, and look like they know what they will do with it before they even touch it.

Wings look like the only guy with a plan is the one with the puck right that particular moment, and no one else knows what the plan is.

This is the most pathetic display of hockey I've ever seen out of the Red Wings in my life. Slow, sloppy, soft.. just awful.

Edit: Now they play. If they can tie this I'll eat my words all day.
