OT: Calling all Entry-Level Engineers
Not trying to use MGoBlog as an MGoJobBoard but I am currently recruiting for an entry-level engineer in Jackson with a BS in Engineering. Due to the fine engineers at the University of Michigan and the close proximity to Ann Arbor, I thought I'd try and help someone out. Please e-mail me at csack(at)impactbusinessgroup(dot)com with a resume and I can work on getting you an interview.
EDIT:
They are open on any type of engineering degree. The position will focus on assembly equipment and processes and the candidate will create and maintain process documentation PFMEA & control plans.

I applaud you for offering the job to Michigan alums, but somehow doubt your main motivation here is to help the Michigan economy.

Well, the manager said he does want local candidates and mentioned Michigan as a school he wanted to target, so indirectly, I am following his word.

" Well, the manager said he does want local candidates and mentioned Michigan as a school he wanted to target, so indirectly, I am following his word."
Sounds like a great company to work for.

? Because he wants Michigan grads?

Edit. Misread it as DOESN'T want to hire local candidates.
In any case, "great company to work for" could be interpreted as a positive as well ;)

you were more desciptive than: "need a Engineer with an Engineering degree". That's like saying I need a doctor who's doctored before. What type of engineer are you looking for (i.e. electrical, sanitation, etc.)?
January 28th, 2011 at 11:02 AM ^
I think he is looking for someone to drive a train.
January 28th, 2011 at 10:58 AM ^
Are you looking for a specific engineering major or any and all?

Just made an edit.

How could it possibly have taken this long for someone to comment on the "csack" email address? <insert scrotum joke/pic of your choice here>
January 28th, 2011 at 11:42 AM ^
Well said, I was waiting for it at some point.

Don't worry about it. People thought my AIM screenname was pronounced blow-master for a while.

While I am not applying for the job, were I to do so "Immature beyond my years" would be listed on my resume among my strengths

Thanks for the post. I'll be passing something along to you.

an graduate student who is in Sports Management for an internship position cuz I would volunteer for it in a heartbeat. This is very competitive with so many people vying for internship position.

Probably would be worth it

"entry level" and "engineer" coupled together always make me apprehensive. Sort of like, "long-span construction".
January 28th, 2011 at 7:04 PM ^
If it makes anyone feel any better, we do try to avoid long span construction at Detroit Edison. Shorter spans prevent certain issues, like having the primary distribution within reach of the kids....
