OT: Cabrera is making amends

Submitted by MaizeAndBlueWahoo on
Tigers up 3-0 and Cabrera has a double and a dong. Still way too early to get excited but IME he's already done what he has to to erase any questions about lingering effects from off-field problems. Gotta have respect for a guy who makes a mess but gets his shit together and starts to clean it up.

Did anybody else catch the sign that said "let's get Denarded in here"? It is obviously for Denard Span but I think that somebody here should make this sign for a game.

I think you mean "dinger" rather than "dong" there. I have no doubt that Cabrera has a "dong" today. And if you have ever been to an adult type store, the words "double" and "dong" conjure up a whole different image that what you seem to be referring to.

I'm hoping Leyland has Lyon and Seau lined up for the 7th & the 8th, with Seau preferably pitching against Mauer and Kubel. I don't know how I feel about keeping Minor in even though he got out of the 6th.

exactly why the fuck Gump Laird is allowed to bat in the 8th inning of a tie game, with 2 on and 2 out, with the season on the line? That is the height of stupidity. Both Leyland and Laird should be forced to walk home from Minneapolis.

There were two out. The season is at stake right here and now. A key hit there and we're ahead, with the bullpen set up for us. I'd happily take my chances with Avila behind the plate if I have the lead.

This has to be the best game I have ever seen. C'mon Tigers! Put 'em away! Edit: Ok, maybe not the best game, but that was a great game. Tore my heart out when we couldn't get any in the top end.
