"Northwestern fans can be both heartened and disheartened by the loss to Minnesota just like how nineteenth-century resurrectionists were heartened when they pried a heart from a freshly-buried corpse and then disheartened it when they sold it to a disreputable anatomist."
OT: Buckled Highway causes car to go airborne
People underestimate the importance of buckling up
Must have been checking updates on LaQuon. Too bad he didn't Treadwell...
an otherwise dull commute. People pay good money for the same thrill at ski resorts. /S
yelling "yee- haw!"
Deal for Bo and Luke Duke in Hazzard County...
Actually, I could hear Big Will Campbell yelling "yee-haw" in the background
"Do you think it matters where we place these gaps in the pavement?"
"Nah, it's just arbitrary."
You would hope they would put up some warning signs a little further ahead than *right at* the buckled highway. What do those big orange signs say? Bump?
How do you know they didn't?
I don't know they didn't... which is why I said I hope they did. Relax.
You could have put the word hope in bold font to help the assholes on the board. People on here love to jump on any errors that are common sense, or what they think are errors.
1. What the F happened to the guy shooting the video right after the SUV went all Evil Kneviel? Even though they had to be at least 100 yards or more away it looks like they fell over.
2. Could they shoot a more extreme close-up of the news chick reading the story? God in heaven that was a tight shot.
1. They probably just moved their arm holding the camera when they were shocked by the ramp take off.
2. Looks like someone recorded a tv newscast.
Darn old folks
For those of you who are local, I-275 at Ford Road in Canton actually has a smaller version of this issue going on right now, so be alert.
As for this video, I don't know if I want to see the bill for the failed portions of the suspension....or the frame, for that matter, as it looked that bad. Yikes. Still, I would love to hear the driver explain this to the staff at whatever shop this SUV eventually gets fixed.
drove over it last night and immediately thought of the car going airborne. It was fixed as of 4 pm today.
Well according to this report, a woman who went over it says that caused an estimated $5K in damages to her car.
"To know that something like that could happen to you is unbelievable," Roach said. "When you see two bump signs, you think it will be a minor bump and it ended up being a three foot ramp."
She said she slowed to around 55 miles per hour when her Dodge Journey took off into the air from the buckled ramp.
This is a bit reminiscent of driving a compact car around north campus my freshman year and having a few close calls while going over that "speed hump" on Murfin.
... and my apartment doesn't even have air conditioning. it's hard to sleep at night when it feels like you're on THE SURFACE OF THE SUN.
Interesting video, but I wonder sometimes what leads someone to post it (and many of the other OTs) on a Michigan sports message board. Not bitching about it. Just wondering what makes one see something like that and think "MGoBlog must see this!"
