OT: British Marine Killed, Sends Friends to Vegas

Submitted by speakeasy on

A British Marine killed in Afghanistan last year left a huge sum from his life insurance policy to his friends so that they could go to Vegas and have a blowout in his memory...about $160,000 of blowout for 32 people. Takes a big guy to think of his friends like that, and also fairly awesome that he was wild enough to will such a thing. Rest in peace good man.

I'm sure she was invited... and also:
Hart, a combat medic, also set aside money for his family as well as £50,000 ($80,700) for a charity for wounded Marines.
EDIT: Actually, he was 23, and willed his buddies to Vegas, so I'd wager that he was a great guy, but unmarried.

It's quite classless to question a dying soldier's wish for his friends.

My take: the man gave his life for his country, and he can do whatever the fuck he wants to with his life insurance.  I hope they had a blast in his memory, and I hope they never, ever forget him.

This guy is dead. There is nothing awesome about that.

Having said that, $160k worth of booze and Vegas would cut into the shitiness of it all a worthwhile amount.

Finally, douchebags and terrorists suck. Salud.

/finishes drink in memory of a nameless non-pussy. Amen.

He died honorably, and did what he could to make sure his friends lived out his last wish..... for all of his friends to go and have the time of their life.

I just don't know if, as his friend, I could have that great of a time with his money under the circumstances.

That said, I respect his wishes and certainly what he did for our respective countries.
