OT: Brandon Knight with one of the most embarrassing missed layups of all time

Submitted by taistreetsmyhero on

There are few things more embarrassing than being victimized by a ferocious alley-oop. Last night, Brandon Knight tried to one-up that by blowing a woud-be game-winning, unopposed layup as time expired.

I don't know if it's THAT embarrassing.  He obviously should have made it, but given that the clock was running down, he wasn't able to slow down at all before going up.  That adds at least a slight degree of difficulty.

is not the only  forgettable moment of his career in Detroit. I just found that highlight package of low tide snafus sort of revealing... even if you rationalize the experience. No NBA talent getting paid bundles wants to be seen as the league's Charlie Brown.

I get the feeling that he's been on kind of a roll in a bad night lore,  getting crossed over, toppling over on a stepback three,  posterized and jammed on  a power dunk attempt. This  suggests Mr. Knight is more like the punchline guy on the end of a Globetrotters-Washington Generals routine. .

But hey, he's made it to the bigtime. Funny stuff.

Bucks fan here.  While that was upsetting, Knight drilled the tieing three pointer in the 2nd OT, and then hit the final two free throws to ice the game in the 3rd OT.  Redeemed himself indeed.  Also, Knight is having a pretty good year this year, and is making the jennings trade look like a steal

I would love to have Brandon Knight back in Detroit.  Never wanted to move him to begin with.  He's a solid kid with an incredible work ethic and a solid head on his shoulders.  If his biggest sin is missing a layup, I'm not going to be the one to throw stones at him.

You liked watching Brandon Knight? By no means am I suggesting he is every bit of the good guy you mentioned; but good player, he was not. Weak and sporadic at best ha the ability to be a spark plug some nights and just a sparkler on others. One of many bad pieces to a lingering patchwork.

Add Josh Smith to that list of garbage as well. And unlike Knight, he comes across as a real ass.
