OT-Bradshaw Remarks On Rothlisberger

Bradshaw said he and Roethlisberger do not have a good relationship. His full remarks:

"When I told him to park the motorcycle, he got pissed. Then he had the accident. Ever since then, he doesn't like me, and I'm learning not to like him. And he wants to break all my records and I say 'go for it.' Break them. I really don't care. I've done my job. My job is over and now you have your shot. But in my opinion, he has got to realize who he is. He is an elite athlete in the National Football League. You've got an image problem right now. The best thing to do is not put yourself in that position again. When you're through playing football, you can do whatever you want to do, but right now, stay clean."

I've always hated Roethlisberger, just seemed like a big overrated douche who thinks wayyyyy to highly of himself.

I know this is one of those I know a guy, who knows a guy who told me this situations, but I will proceed anyway. My brothers best friend, played at Miami for their hockey team in years coinciding with Big Ben's tenure there. He always maintained that Big Ben was a douche, who most people thought was a loser. I always thought he was just jealous, but he has proven that it was in fact true. Ben is a arrogant douche bag.

Good for Terry though, telling Ben how it is.

I was an undergrad at Miami during some of the Roethlisberger years. Although I never met him personally, pretty much everyone who has ever met him has told me he's a gigantic douche.

I had some fb players in my classes and not one of them had a good thing to say about him. He's also apparently a huge creep around females (shocking I know). I've heard multiple stories about how he would come back to Oxford and have his bodyguards physically pick up girls off the dance floor and bring them back to his booth so that he could "meet" them.

I was also at Miami when Roethlisberger was there. I had lunch with him 2x and saw him around the ahtletic buildings on campus. My roommate was really good friends with the receivers so occasionally we would run into Ben when hanging out with them. I will also throw my 2 cents in the ring. I too thought he was a giant douche. He thought he was black or at least talked like he was at all times.

I work with a guy who went to college with a HS classmate of Ben. This classmate said that when Ben was a HS senior, he charged $20 for a senior picture. What a f'in douche. I wouldn't pay 20 cents for his wrecked motorcycle, let alone $20 for his picture. Bradshaw is a huge stock up in my opinion.

Which of us haven't made some mistakes while we were younger? If given the opportunity wouldn't you try to share that lesson learned with someone else so perhaps they might not make similar mistakes? I think what Bradshaw is offering is plain old fashioned advice from someone who has been there, done that. The passage of time allows us the chance to see ourselves and our lives more objectively, if we can offer some sage advice to someone younger, it is because we do care and genuinely want them to do better.

It's not that the advice is bad or that it comes from an insincere place. But it just seems a tad hypocritical.

Bradshaw is "terrible" and "awful." That's how he won four Super Bowls, got hired for television work the year after he retired, and has stayed employed on national television since 1984.

Sorry, but no matter what one might think of Bradshaw's personality or his intellect, he has to have been doing something right all this time. And for a good ol' hell-raisin' southern boy who "couldn't spell cat if you gave him the first two letters," he has managed to stay out of trouble, unlike "intelligent," midwestern golden boy Rothlisberger.

I'll take Bradshaw over Rothlisberger to lead my team anytime.

Unsavory character he may be, I'd still rather have Ben Roethlisberger lead my team. Bradshaw is pretty old and if he takes one hit I think he'd be out of the game.

Terry's retard strength. (I actually like Bradshaw, but lets face it, he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.)

Ben is a gigantic douchebag, but I'll give him this...

even when his career really seems like it should implode, there's not another QB out there I would want running my 2 minute offense needing a score more than him. Yeah, including Peyton & Tom. The guy can play in pressure situations.

Too bad he can't seem to shed the personality problems.

A good start would be to get rid of that godawful mullet.

And here's a question: Russell Crowe v Ben Roethlissberger in a barfight... who wins?

"I agree with everything you said. It's just that Tiger Woods probably shouldn't come out and say "Don't cheat on your wife." Milton Bradley probably shouldn't preach "Be nice to umpires." Charles Barkley probably shouldn't come out and say "Eat healthy" or "Don't gamble."

Who would you rather get advice from? The guy who had effed up royally and was trying to piece himself back together or the guy talking out of his rectum?

I'm reminded of the line from Gran Torino where Walt tells the priest that he's an idiot because he's an over-educated 27 year old virgin who holds the hands of superstitious old ladies and promises them eternity.
