...that brought you Terry Mills and Grant Long has a pretty decent basketball tradition going, yes. As a Romulus resident (but former Saline Hornet), I dare say that being ranked #2 in the state and being in this tourney bigger to some folks on my street than the NCAA tournament.

As for Michigan hoops potential from Romulus, I searched Rivals and only E.C. Matthews - a shooting guard and class of 2013 prospect - shows interest in Michigan. Of course, all schools on the list are listed as "medium", which is not terribly helpful. I assume this means nobody has bothered with this data too much to date.

Beilein follows NABC guidelines on offers, meaning he doesn't make official offers until June 15 before a prospect's junior year. So he'll start officially offering players in the 2014 class this June 15. That doesn't mean he hasn't already started pursuing Drake Harris.

Drake Harris is also a very promising WR prospect with a nice highlight reel on hudl.  I am not sure which sport, if either, he is favoring but it will be interesting to see how his recruiting plays out.  Apparently his favorite team to root for is MSU, which most likely means that he will commit to Michigan during their Junior day next year.

Current student of Lake Orion here.... Cool to see them so far. I don't believe they've been this far since the 1920's.... It was an amazing transformation from last year, when we won 3 games all season. Sad I couldn't make it to the game tonight

He was named a sophomore 1st team all american on maxpreps http://grchsfootball.com/news/drake-harris-named-maxpreps-2011-us-air-force-sophomore-all-american-football-teams

Based on the highlight video, it looks like he is a very smooth runner with deceptive speed. Could use work catching ball at highest point, and seems to go down a little easy. would love to have him in our 2014 class though.

Edit: This was supposed to be in response to Drake Harris post

Best team in the state....easily.

Best coaching tree as well. Lou Dawkins won back-to-back titles at SHS. Kalamazoo's Mike Thomas (an SHS alum, won title as player) won back-to-back titles coaching K'Zoo. And now Julian Taylor (current SHS coach, alum, former player) is on his way as well. Another banner for "Da High" is on its way!! #Trojans
