OT - Bolivia Now a Desirable Destination?
The New York Times, in today's travel section, listed the "52 Places to Go in 2015."
http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/01/11/travel/52-places-to-go-in…
Check out #8 on the list.
Do we need to find a new place to send those who misbehave?
Where should we send those who commit egregious MGoTransgressions?

My first accidental double post! I'd like to thank the Academy...

Maybe as an appetizer. Next stop in Thailand to titillate your inner 8 year-old would be the province-archipelago-resort island of ... awwwwhhh ... Phuket.

If you speak Spanish, you'll also get a chuckle as I did at 6 years old every time I'd pass an AMOCO station. (Means "a booger").

a Chevy "NOVA" at the time?
January 12th, 2015 at 12:57 PM ^
I'd see Bangkok as something I would get off on saying more when I was an eleven year old.
Or, maybe, as a forty year old too...
.
Now, saying Titicaca as a seven year old, that's the bomb!

Bolivia has tons of cocaine. What is not to love?

Don't become a drug mule.
January 11th, 2015 at 10:46 PM ^

Shall we neg people into north Korea or columbus Ohio?
January 11th, 2015 at 10:45 PM ^
We should neg people into Kim Jong Un's butthole.
January 11th, 2015 at 11:19 PM ^
is already occupying that space.
January 12th, 2015 at 6:00 AM ^
At least he has a clean place to stay. After all Kim doesn't pee or poop.
January 12th, 2015 at 4:19 PM ^
we should hook up Kim Jong Un with Cornholio.
January 11th, 2015 at 10:48 PM ^
At least people in ohio can leave if they want to.

I will also note that my city of Adelaide, Australia made the list. This is entirely unrelated to Bolivia but in fairness the post is entirely unrelated to Michigan (except in the MGoBlog inside joke context).
Adelaide is amazing and incredibly underrated, especially when the only cities most Americans seem to know in Australia are Sydney and Melbourne (with a few knowing Perth and Brisbane). Beaches, wineries, a decent night life (1.2 million people in the city), and gorgeous weather, and nothing is more than a half hour's drive from anything else.
January 12th, 2015 at 5:13 AM ^
I've been to Adelaide and very much enjoyed it. Never did get my pie floater, though.
Didn't spend a lot of time in the city, though, as we went up to the Clare and Barossa valleys. A lot of things to see in the area.

That shithole will do.

We are trying to make the MGoBolivia respectable, of course.
Phase VIII of La Paz Estates should be done by late March, and we hope to have a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the new multi-purpose sports complex which will open later in the year. This should provide the residents of Bolivia the ability to get soccer, hockey and a few other sports going during months with rough weather. We've also worked out a deal which will mean the final phase of broadband (as opposed to DSL) coming to the seedier parts of the colony by mid-summer.
January 11th, 2015 at 10:58 PM ^
Now we just need to find a way to get the NBA and womens sports to officially piss off most of the former MGo residents currently in Bolivia.
January 11th, 2015 at 11:03 PM ^
Orlando is on that?! The list lost all credibility.

Ok, BRING BACK BRANDON!

Huge clickbait list... Bolivia, Cuba, Philly, Cleveland, ZImbabwe... NYT like other publications just put out whatever list to get people to click and share. I am beginning to think they just randombly pick 50 cities, go to the wikipedia to write something about the place and then publish. (cool inbedded videos for the cities though)
January 12th, 2015 at 5:59 AM ^
Philly is a great city, just have to know where to go and avoid some tourist spots...not sure it should be as high on the list though.

Agree, I actually like Philly a lot, but just not sure it ranks as a top 50 world wide tourist destination.
January 12th, 2015 at 3:09 PM ^
FWIW, here's a link to how the Times says it put the list together: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/11/travel/how-we-chose-our-list.html

If you're gonna list Philly, you gotta say Kensington, that's the worst part of Philadelphia I worked in

Is anyone else finding it literally impossible to post from the MGoBlog HD app recently? Am I alone? I absolutely love the app but am disappointed that, after buying it, I still need to use a mobile browser. Hopefully it's just me.
January 12th, 2015 at 4:45 AM ^
It's been working for me. Although I've went to post several times in the last week and the app closed. But I have been able to read and see all the content on the app.

I think there is a script in the app that closes it when a user attempts to post anything as gramatically egregious as "I've went to post." But it obviously doesn't catch all. Which is unfortunate.

Your kidding? I had no idea their was such a feature!
January 12th, 2015 at 11:32 AM ^
There is such a feature, and for all intensive purposes it works.

"Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," after they get dropped off at the train station out in the middle of Bolivian nowhere:
Butch: "You know, it could be worse. You get a lot more for your money in Bolivia, I checked on it."
Sundance: "What could they have here that you could possibly want to buy?"
