OT: Bloom County has officially relaunched
For those on the board who grew up in the 80's, Bloom County was an iconic comic strip with absolute spot on wit taking on current news/culture/political topics. I am surprised that Berkeley is bringing it back after 25 years and wonder if he will have his old magic. I hope he does.

Saw this on FB yesterday. So excited. SPEAK TO US, BERKELEY BREATHED. WE NEED YOU NOW MORE THAN EVER.
is good news.... Thanks for the update.
The end of the Opus strip was one of the saddest events of the last several years. Breathed's humor was gentle but pointed; not a trace of meanness. I love his body of work and I can't wait to start following him again.
Bloom County back? Yeah, right. Next you'll be telling me Calvin & Hobbes is back. /s
(I'm glad to see Opus & Milo again.)
/s = sarcasm
He had mixed success with Outland and the Opus both of which were Sunday Only strips. I have all of the original soft cover collections of Bloom County. I sort of think he should follow the Watterson model and remain retired, I'm not sure it will have the same energy it did in the 80s. But maybe I'll be wrong.

THBBFT!
ACK!!!!!
Billy and the Boingers...
I am an odd mix of Steve Dallas, Opus, Oliver Wendell Jones and cockroach. Mostly Steve Dallas. I share a closet with Binkley.
This news makes me want to stare down my undershorts. Ack!
Some epic Trump trolling back before there was trolling. Loved the tension between 60's idealism and the 80's consumer culture (e.g., Mary Kay Commandos hunting down rescued test animals).
Need my "Don't Blame Me I Voted for Bill and Opus" t-shirt.
Of course, even if I could find it, I bet it would have shrunken over the years and not fit the way it did when I was 16 (and ran cross-country).
Fun fact, if you are ever in Iowa City you can visit the Bloom County House!
Not if it's cold enough for snow in July. /rimshot
Well, maybe if my power goes out again...
Bloom County was so great. Now we need the Far Side to come back, too.
Date to Charles Schulz and Peanuts. It made us feel better after reading Doonesbury which, candidly, went full-on bitter real quick. And there is more to life than the grievance industry. So stand your place in line, Hobbes, and don't go too Calvin just yet. Although... Calvin :)
