OT - Black Friday / "Support MGoBlog: buy stuff at Amazon" thread

Submitted by MGoBender on

A reminder to all ye consumers: you can support MGoBlog simply by buying on Amazon through the link at the top of the site!  You're not even spending any extra money!  I just bought me a new Black Friday deal laptop on Amazon and I supported MGoBlog in doing so wheeee!!!

And I avoided this:

Anyone braving the idiocy?  If so, for what deals?

By far, the most amusing story that I saw in the Detroit area was the dude in Roseville that was employing his brothers to camp out in shifts at the Best Buy nearest them. Indeed, he was interviewed on Channel 7 here and supposedly he had tickets to the Lions game, so I wonder which brother got that shift in the tent while he was at Ford Field. I believe Best Buy has been open for two hours or so now, so hopefully, this guy got back in time to get what he wanted.

MgoBender, Will this link be up through Christmas? I frequently use Amazon to shop ,and I'd love to support MgoBlog, but usually shop a little closer to Christmas, after [hopefully] a year end bonus.

I've gone a couple times but I'll go black Friday shopping but I go a few hours after they open. I know I won't get any of the "doorbuster" items (fitting name) but that's ok with me I don't want to be a part of that mess.

HOLIDAY30.  Not good for kindle or audio!!  Must support paper books as well as MGoBlog!  Feed that tactile obsession!  (Unless they're doing this to clear out the paper.  Sigh.)  30% off single book.

PS:  Does it help MGoBlog more to click there at the link than on one of the Amazon ads that show up in the ad columns?

EDIT:  Small print said shipping may be added, implying that if you qualify for free delivery that may be wiped out.  So buyer beware.  Buying a single paperback won't make much sense, with shipping that's double the discount.  So I think I'll use that for my beveled guilt and turn to the huge pile of paper books already here waiting for me.
