OT: Big Lebowski Released 20 Years Ago Today
One of the greatest movies of all time, and a board favorite, the Big Lewbowski, was released twenty friggin' years ago today. That does make me feel old. BUT, it also is a time to reflect on what a wonderful movie it is and all of the references that come from it.

Mark it 0! er ... 2 0!
Relax man. No physical harm intended.
I'll suck your cock for a thousand dollars...
Gonna go find a cash machine
Brandt can't watch though. Or he has to pay a hundred.
I would need at least 10k to consider letting you...plus you would need to wear dental dams
You mean coitus?
that we hate sex. It can be a natural zesty enterprise."
Nice marmot...
I was in college, working nights at a bowling alley. Saw it four or five times in the theatre, and it’s my favorite movie to this day. The job T-Bone Burnett did of cobbling together such an amazing hodgepodge of music was nothing short of miraculous.
I also saw this in the theaters and was one of the few people laughing. Granted I was already a fan of the Coen brothers but a lot of people didn't understand the humor at release.
Saw Raising Arizona dozens of times in highschool and was completely blown away by Fargo, and liked the Hudsucker Proxy, Miller's Crossing and Barton Fink, so I had high expectations for The Big Lewbowski. I also lived in LA* and bowled at the bowling alley they filmed at.
...and I was really really disappointed with The Big Lewbowski. There wasn't really much of a plot and not much happened.
Then a friend told me that the lack of plot was the point of the movie. It was an experience. The dude abides.
I re-watched the movie and have loved it ever since.
*I lived in the neighborhood Swingers was filmed in a year after the movie came out. I saw Vince Vaughn at the Big Lewbowski bowling alley a couple of times. (Cool story bro)
Is it still acceptable to say that I love caucasians (the beverage)? Because I love them.
to collude with a White Russian anymore?
I colluded with one last night. Russian chicks are sexy,
No one saw this movie in theaters, it was a giant flop. It is amazing how popular it has become in the past 10 years
What many consider one of the greatest films if not THE greatest film of all time didnt do shit at the box office and didnt win the oscar for best picture

A lot of great 90s movies didn’t make a lot of money. My favorite movie of the decade, Office Space wasn’t a huge hit in theaters
When I saw Irvin the theater. Double date with my soon to be wife and another couple.
The movie really grew on me when I saw it on TV late at night every time I had to feed our baby girl a few years later
don't roll on Shabbos.
I know it's an emergency, that's why I picked up the phone.

Nobody f*cks with the Jesus....
8 year olds, Dude.
Double
NOBODY FUCKS WITH THE JESUS
Look, I love Lebowski as much as anyone, but to call it one of the greatest movies of all time is a bit of a stretch. Could be one of the, if not THE most quotable movie of all time, though.
Go ahead, go ahead, give me the "yeah, well... that's just your opinion, man" gif, meme.
I was first introduced to this movie around 2002 and I've called White Russians caucasians ever since.
I do too. It's amazing how many bartenders get the reference without having to elaborate. Great drink
They have to be careful. there is a beverage involved here.
Fuck up, Chuckie!!
If you have doubts about the veracity of chuckie W’s assertion about the qoutability of the Big Lebowski. Contained therein are phrases for every social situation you might find yourself in.
Lot of outs, lot of what-have-you’s...
What movie are you talking about?
Blood Simple
First picture, correct? Also has two all time great character actors in M. Emmet Walsh and Dan Hedaya.
M. Emmett Walsh had a great very brief appearance in Raising Arizona as well.
You are like a child, walking into the middle of a conversation
You want a toe? I can get you a toe, believe me. There are ways.
My... my wi-, my wife, Bunny? Do you see a wedding ring on my finger? Does this place look like I'm fucking married? The toilet seat's up, man!
