OT: Betting Sports

I really hope that this isn't breaking any sort of MGoRules by posting this, or if this is bad MGoEtiquette, but I have been messing around with a sports betting website that gives you $0.10 for free to bet sports with, and if you lose it then they give you 10 more cents, but if you are successful and can earn up to $10.00, then you can cash it out. It is not really a serious money making venture, but has taught me a lot of the basics of betting sports without putting any real money up to risk. Thought some fellow sports fans would maybe also be interested. I have wanted to bet on the UM games for a long time, but being a college student I never really had the money to put up, and I found this to be pretty cool. Anyway, take a look at it if you want. http://www.centsports.com/ Again, if this type of post is considered spam, or is frowned upon on the message board, I apologize.

"Q: Can I get money out of my account? A: Yup. Any time you have over $20 in your account you can cash out ... minimum of $10. Actually, cashouts on CentSports work a little differently that you might expect ... we designate a certain amount of money each week as 'cashout' funds, and people compete over that using their balances. I know that doesn't make much sense now ... it'll make sense once you sign up and start using the site." That said, if you want to "practice" sports betting, I guess this isn't a bad idea. Just know that you'll bet differently if you're talking $10 or $50 or $200 real dollars compared to 10 cents.

WHEW! I was concerned at first thinking you might be offering the online schematics for a dirty bomb or how to make PCP in the garage. According to Art Schlichter-nothing to see here-carry on.

Centsports is ok, but I've only been able to get up to $10 before slowly losing it all. Sportsbook is decent for real betting. I used to use Bodog but had some issues getting money into my account and switched. Sidenote: why the hell don't local casinos (Detroit, Indiana) have sportsbooks?

I bet for the first time last year against Purdue. Both times they covered the spread against Notre Dame and Ohio State. Then to add insult to injury, they beat Michigan in November. Needless to say I'm never betting against Purdue again.

I too lost a bunch of money on online sports gambling. I'm not going to discourage anybody from sports gambling, but I will give a warning. It becomes very addictive. I started gambling on games I did tons of research on, and won a decent amount of money. It turned nasty when I started winning money and needed to be constantly betting on games, more money on every game. If you have any type of addictive personality beware, and set limits. And don't bet on games you have a personal interest in, Winning is great, but a loss hurts twice as bad. And covering a spread doesn't make you feel good about the loss.

Sportsbetting.com is a good site, but don't do the deposit bonus or any of their casino games. The poker software is good, but you won't find the same number of large tournaments available since its not one of the more well known pokers sites out there. I would recommend full tilt or bodog over any other site, not a fan of pokerstars. If you want a real poker game, go to the Heidelberg pretty much any night of the week. They have cash games and a good size tournament on Wednesdays usually.

Sports betting is not the best choice for earning money on the Internet, in my opinion. there are many similar gambling ways to earn money. For example, an online casino. For more information, click this link and you will find out what I'm talking about.
