to play football, not to play trumpet
is flush with potential.
There could also be a lot of really crappy puns too
... you keep track of the logs.
Urine good company here
the shit, guys.
It's pissing me off.
...when we're all pooped out, and not able to come up with any more.
Sheesh. I haven't even gotten past the first few replies and already I want to wash my hands of this thread.
I didn't mean to stall you.
I think you misunderstood him - he wasn't dumping on you.
Too late - you've really clogged up the tubes here.
I see what you did there. I gave you +1 for it, and it went from 0 to 3 when I clicked....you're welcome?
That's the power of a partial page refresh. Two others voted before yours went in.
edit: classy. I'm telling naught but the truth.
How many more shitty topics are we going to have posted today.
The League if they still provide the double ply. Used to be the only place on campus.
That particular brand of toilet paper sucks.
The League has two secret one-holers, one on the third floor at the north end of the building and one in the basement in the service hallway. The third floor one was large and clean since it's meant as a public restroom, but the one in the basement was so small and out of the way that I didn't even know about it until my second year working there. I shirked more work taking a dump in that basement bathroom than I have in any single bathroom since, and I've shirked some work.
This thread reminds me of high school...literally...I went to an all boys high school and the BEST bathroom was this girls bathroom (because faculty had their own bathroom.)
It was so clean and unused.
I'm an '06 alum, and I would specifically go out of my way to use that bathroom.
I actually went to Xavier HS (NYC) but glad someone else shared the same experience. Think about it: ~1,000 dudes, there simply aren't enough toilets to even it out.
Yes, I was the only girl at an all boys HS.
and you're a moron."
A truly funny joke does not need a self-lol.
Social Work building was ALWAYS deserted and had some great facilities. But sometimes it was hard to get into. I think it was only open during the day to non students.
Upstairs at the MLB also worked well. There was never anyone around except on the main lecture floor.
the transgender bathroom in the SSW building is a gem. Everyone is afraid to be seen going in or exiting from there so it's meticulous. Seriously
I've seen some immaculate bathrooms, but never a meticulous one.
Edit: I'm trying to figure this one out. Is this a bathroom where the toilet won't let you get up until you've pooped JUST right?
well...I'm not sure what the best is, I just know that it definitely isn't one of the bathrooms in Markley.
-Wittiness of Graffiti
You forgot "accommodating of a wide stance."
I feel like that could fall under Intangibles
This thread reminds me of a Michigan Daily expose on the bathrooms in Angell Hall my freshman or sophomore year. Apparently it was a famously huge meetup spot for anonymous gay sex and a lot of really nasty shit went on there.
Senator Craig, this is not the time nor the place to out yourself on the internets.
The Upper Floors of Haven Hall.
Cleaniness: Normally these are fairly clean, I've always had good luck with the 6th floor ones myself. In general they tend to get worse the lower you go.
Accessibility: Pretty good. They're just a bit off the stair tower / elevators. If you're on Central, odds are you're in and out of Angell and its sub-halls constantly. So solid offering.
Privacy: Good on the privacy, also typically fairly desolate. You'll get occasional foot traffic from the grad students, but its mostly empty. I like the 6th floor since the 6th floor is mostly faculty offices, 60% of which are dark at all times. Also it is a small bathroom, a two staller, so it has a more personal feel.
Graffiti: Definitely the weak area. Just some GEO slogans.
Intangibles: It's a recently built facility. The top floor is in fact used by part of the Dean's staff, so facilities does a good job keeping them clean. Also they have excellent comment control, they're less likely to have some out of control A/C or heater going. Also quiet, not a lot of noise, lets you relax and take care of business.
Either the tree by the 8th green of the golf course or the side of Markley Hall.
How did I not get a UIP in college?
The unisex bathrooms in UGLi (3rd & 4th floors) are interesting, though I'm always slightly embarrassed when a hot girl is standing in line right after I leave a #2.
Yeah these ones are horrible, especially when you realize that door doesn't muffle sound at all, and the rest of the library is dead silent.
But my vote for the worst goes to either any GG Brown bathroom (oh, the smell...) or the basement of the Modern Language Building, where the stall walls are only about 4 feet tall. You could literally walk into the bathroom and watch someone take a shit over the stall door. Not cool.
LSA building main floor
The League second floor.
I tend to go more for cleanliness than anything else, and I've found these to be the best so far. Grafitti in these is definitely pretty poor, but it's a sacrifice...
uh....what? We're talking about bathrooms, man.
Did you actually take that pic yourself? Camera phones have been used many times in the bathroom, but I would think to take a picture of the stall wall is rarely the reason.
Yeah, that's the extent of my bathroom camera phone usage. I had a picture of the Gordon Freeman portrait but it got lost, so I had to make up for it with a picture of this.
Can you let us know when you are going out and where so we can all avoid you and your camera in the bathrooms in Ann Arbor and surrounding areas. I know people need a hobby, but this one isn't quite right.
The composting toilets in the Dana building are the best. Especially on the upper-floors, you can drop your bomb and wait for the oh-so satisfying impact *PLOP* after it falls two stories. Amazing.
agreed 3rd floor Dana is the best. No graffiti is the only downside but they are new. Also theres a chemical bath shower right outside of the door if your interested in a full locker room experience
The best public bathroom thread.
Now, we have reached a level that would make Scout and Rivals boards seem eloquent and thoughtful.
And exactly WHY do you need to know this? Public bathrooms are notorious places for.......
Don't tell me!
electric hand dryers?
No? OK, um...
Rivals: man i took a sick sky dump @ the ugli yesterday left a big spalsh didnt flush wrote penis on the wall LOL 4 real tho those bathrooms r the shit!!!!!1
MGoBlog: See any of the responses to the OP.
If there is anything this shows it is that our members can craft witty and creative responses to just about any thread topic in the universe.
soon after they published this article the university painted over the walls and erased my scrabble game i started on the tiles. sad day
No one goes in the Space Research Building, and if you hit the restrooms in the back hallway by the faculty offices on the second floor, there's usually good reading material. Biker's World, Sports Illustrated, The Atlantic, Sky & Telescope. I consider this a win.
I used to stop in SRB almost every morning on my way from the orange lot to GG Brown. You could set up shop in there for about 15 minutes and go undisturbed every time.
Honorable mention to the Media Union as well.
You just ruined a beautiful secret. I frequently had classes there, and those single stall bathrooms in the office hallways were an oasis. How will you be able to sleep at night knowing that you have destroyed it? Next you'll tell everyone about the frequently empty CAEN lab on the 2nd....fuck.
I'd argue that this definitely isn't OT -- I've spent quite a few hours reading MGoBlog while on the can.
IIRC the weirdest bathroom was the one in the computer lab in the basement of the Union (not the Tapp room). It wasn't even on the same level of the lab's floor, it was about 1.5 feet above. Maybe it was left over from when the swimming pool was there. I think it was also really cramped inside.
Also, the bathroom in front of the elevators on the 1st floor of the Grad Library was horrible. It was so cramped inside that you couldn't even wash without getting some pee on yourself. Fun times!
I used that one often last year when I lived in West Quad. It always frightened me because there's a bunch of pipes with what looks like asbestos coming out of them.
That bathroom has a light above the outside of the door that you can turn on and off from inside--IIRC by pulling on a cord or a switch. It looks like it was to get help when it maybe had another use in the past. It cracked us up when my friend discovered it during a late-night programming session in that lab.
Are you George Costanza?
2nd floor West Hall hands down. Check it. Near anthro department.
I don't know dude, I use that bathroom a lot and I'm not crazy about it. Low marks on privacy/intangibles/graffiti and cleanliness is average.
Stamps is new, and sparkling clean.
Oosterbaan, however not public they might be, are way up there for me.
My worst? CSE building right off the lobby. You have to wonder if some toilets are specifically designed to be capable of handling large volumes of Panda Express.
Back in the 80's, few students ever stepped foot inside of Rackham so it was a great place to use the bathroom - always clean, empty and warm! It also has a nice reference room on the second floor to study (if you're looking for a new place).
In HH Dow, there is a stall where someone wrote "Best position (with diagram)" and someone drew up the offensive side a football play and pointed to the RB and added "especially when Brandon Minor is healthy"
I also am a fan of one of the ones in EECS, I think, that says "Fuck sharks"
I think one of the Dow ones was in the "bad designs on campus" because it was very conducive to collisions. They would get decent marks for low usage though.
If only I had known the volume of injuries this year would bring for our running backs, I would have changed it.
4th floor of the Union in the hallway with the student group offices, or the School of Public Health (the new building). The SPH bathrooms are just plain fancy.
For throwback and variety, I would also submit the bathrooms in the basement of the Grad.
I feel like George Costanza right now... Another piece of pie here!
I just read all the replies and now have to take a dump. Excellent work gentlemen.
Once again I made a comment
But I just didn't like it
So let's just imagine Ronnie pooping
I'm a fan of the first floor EECS building bathroom. Lots of stalls and urinals, abundant, witty programming/engineering jokes, and quite possibly the nicest faucets on campus. They have a high, curved spout with two hot/cold handles and water that's always warm. My bathroom of choice.
The worst is the restroom in the basement of the Law Library Reading Room. They could clean the minute before you go in, and the 80 years of smoke fumes coating everything makes it look like a filthy gas station crapper. You can see it was really really nice once---in 1932.
Why do I think this is going to be a nominee in our "Best of" and "Year in Review" Thread awards...
is the sixth floor stacks in the Grad.
If you read the crime notes a lot in the daily, you should get this...
