but Im still wondering where someone would drive you that in Toledo...I am just making sure that Im not missing out on something spectacular that I am currently unaware of. I just can't think of any place that is around that I would seek out, other than the generic options I mentioned.

I love hippie hash. I immediately thought of it, when I read the title to this thread. I'm sorry though, I can't endorse Fleetwood. I thought it was pretty good until I found Abe's. Fleetwood's broccoli and generally less buttery concoction just isn't as good as the hippie hash in ypsi. You have to use a pound of butter with it. It just tastes so much better.

Ordering basically the entire menu at BTB is great too.

Hippie Hash is tops for me I think, but NYPD, BTB and a bunch of other places compete.  At least Ann Arbor has options so nothing gets old - if thats possible when drunk.

Also, BYU wasn't disqualified from the drunk food list.  They have ice cream in Provo.

Happy to see this choice - back in my day (mid 80s) they had a fantastic concoction called The Chili Size - which was a half pound cheeseburger, open face, smothered in chili. Perfect 2am fare, even if (like Spots wings) you regretted it all the next day... No chili size on the menu last time I was in AA after hours last year...

For me its usually Panchero's, Jimmy Johns, or South U pizza. They are all so well located to drunkenly stumble into. Honorable mention goes to Mr Spots, but its a bit further of a walk so the journey isn't made as often.

Isn't Mister Spots closed at 1 on the weekends, like 11 or 10 on the weekdays? I think it hardly counts as drunk food. It is one of my favorite dinner joints though. Just don't have the chicken fingers with the hot sauce before you go out. It does not go well with drinking.

From my experiences, the top places are pizza places depending on where you live (NYPD, Cottage Inn (Packard), Bell's, South U, Backroom, Pizza House), the burrito places, and probably Quickie Burger. I'm trying to think on State Street what is open late, I believe the newly opened Five Guys is open until 2, so that probably doesn't qualify. I guess Subway and Jimmy Johns count, but they're not unique to the area.

I feel like the main problem here is that Ann Arbor doesn't really have unique food options of the late night variety. Yes, there are a lot of solid options, but there's no elaborate meal that blows everything else away. Moreover, if you live somewhere on campus and you frequent the place a lot, you're going to probably have bias to that location. The responses in this thread speaks to the diversity of the options as well as the people who go or have gone to this school.

The picture of that Chano's burrito just gave me USC-law-school-flashback-diahrea.  Gross.  Substitute "drunk after hours" with "sober at noon and on my way to Torts class" and the awfulness becomes entirely apparent.

Fart on!

Are any of the food trucks in Los Angeles out serving food after 2 a.m.? I always marveled at these places that were no bigger than a truck bed camper, having menus larger than all the restaurants in a suburban mall food court combined.

I thought LA had the world's best mom and pop donut shops too.

I have to say BTB and NYPD for me, having been in A2 from 99-07 for undergrad and grad school. BTB wasn't there when I was in undergrad, but I lived right by it in law school, and it is fucking phenomenal. NYPD is the old favorite, for the 4 meat slices and chicken rolls.

I'm all about Pizza House.  Just 'cause they have EVERYTHING and are open until 5am or whatever.  Pizza? done.  Subs? done.  Salad?  done but wtf.  Their breadsticks with chipati sauce are to die for.  Now I really want some. :(

I would kill for a Pizza House in Detroit.  Or a BTB.  Or an Insomnia.  Oh God, I miss Ann Arbor.

What's wrong with you people? I can't think of a better drunk/hungover meal than meaty hippie hash at Fleetwood. Hash browns have been completely unsatisfying  ever since I left A2.

Hippie Hash is ideal for me, and so many others on that list sound delicious. Cajun Creole Chili? Barracuda Burger? Cream Cheese Pizza? I just got the urge to take a massive road trip, and also got incredibly hungry.

As someone who normally resides in Pittsburgh, how in the hell did Primanti's make it at #8 on the list? Their sandwiches are not that good, even when drunk. Not that I've had more than maybe 3 or 4 things on this list, but there has to be more than 7 things on the list better than those sandwiches, including the Hippie Hash.

As a student when Panchero's firt opened who turned his after bar burito obsession into a part time job, nothing could be that 2am -3am shift there!  Now that is has changed and they no longer cook the fresh Chorizo or make the fresh home made rice and tomatillo sauce it has gone down hill.

I will say this, nothing could bring me more pleasure than forgetting to drain off all the fat from a Chorizo El Gordo and watching some drunk ass hole who just ordered it eating it down!  Thus knowing in about an hour he will be paying for being a dick!
