OT: Best Binoculars for watching football

Submitted by IUandUofM on

I know they are not that popular, especially with all the great views from the Big House. In addition to looking out of place, binoculars at sporting events have some big downsides.  First of all, many are just overpowered and keeping plays, and players in the field of view can be challenging.  The wideness of the view is also not ideal with standard options.

I did some research, and found a great solution for those that want to get a bit closer to the action ... an Xtra-Wide AUTOFOCUS binocular option nearly perfectly designed for watching football ... and not too expensive as well:

Bushnell 4x30 Xtra-Wide 900 Feet Field of View Travel Binoculars

See ALL the action!

Bushnell's 4x30mm Xtra-Wide compact binoculars are the hottest ticket around for watching sporting events. They offer a field of view twice as wide as that of most binoculars, so you can seeALL the action - even a bullet pass down the sidelines that most viewers would just miss.

In fact, with 4x30mm Xtra-Wide compacts, the action is always in frame, and you won't even have to take your hand out of the peanut bag to follow it.

These auto-focus, compact binoculars come with a hip pack, and they deliver an impressive 900-foot field of view at 1,000 yards. They feature BaK-4 prisms as well as fully multi-coated optics for high resolution and enhanced light transmission. Also, there's non-slip, rubber armor.

High-Performance Features:

  • BaK-4 prisms for maximum light transmission
  • Fully multi-coated optics for sharp, clear views
  • Non-slip, rubber armor for secure grip
  • Lightweight at 1 lb.

See it all with Bushnell 4x30mm Xtra-Wide compact binoculars. They're your ticket to spectacular views!

For football you want no more than 7x magnification.  That way you get a wider view.  Noc geeks don't like autofocus, and you wouldn't need them for football, but let us know how they are if you get them.

FA,

That is at least a 5x20 scope on that rifle.

If you're watching the Lions, I suggest you use a well lubricated set of beer goggles.
