OT - Baylor WR Robbie Rhodes arrested for drugs and evidence tampering

Submitted by BlueCube on

This will be interesting to watch. I don't wish ill will on anyone. He was driving while high which is why he got pulled over however. He then attempted to hide the drugs resulting in a evidence tampering charge.

I think we know the results will be a far lesser penalty than McGary because it wasn't as a result of a NCAA test which makes no sense.

I read on MLive that Beilein was hopeful they would at a minimum reduce McGary's penalty and it sounded like he was somewhat surprised the appeal was denied.

This goes to show how common sense is not considered by the NCAA.

no I don't. my point is I want the ncaa to punish for things that are under their perview and the law for thing under it's perview. the test was an ncaa test he fail so they punished him. I don't agree with the length of the punishment but I always think he was stupid for even doing around that time knowing that the NCAA will test. same with guys who test positive at the nfl combine. you know they will test and if you smoke you deserve to get caught for being dumb

Since legalization in CO I've been curious how the authorities would deal with these situations considering how long pot stays in your system. Is there a breathalyzer or some sort of field sobriety test to determine level of impairment?

Anyways the article states that he was pulled over for failing to signal while changing lanes. The officer smelled pot and found some in the car. I did not see any mention of being charged with driving under the influence.

According to the Waco Tribune - HERE - Rhodes was previously cited for possession of drug paraphenelia in McLennan County, which amounted to all of about a $450 fine according to their article. I will say, I find it intriguing that Briles said that had not heard anything about the incident until it was made public by various articles, so I suppose we'll have to see how it plays out. I am guessing that he doesn't miss much time - not sure how Briles will handle this one, of course.

Evidence tampering is a lame charge.  What am I supposed to do, just leave my drugs right where they are?  Please.
