OT: Barry Sanders wins madden cover vote
Title says it all, two lions on back to back covers with denard getting one on NCAA. It just shows what great fans we have up here as all 3 were won by fan votes Here's a link to the cover art
Ya buddies! Good for him. It's amazing he is still getting the attention and accolades so many years (decades) later. A lot of respect out there for this man.

Best running back ever to play IMO
Even after years of ineptitude from the Lions, Barry was always worth watching. Everytime the offense had the ball, I just couldn't pull my eyes away from the action for fear of missing just one of his runs. He was an amazing talent, and could create plays out of nothing more than any other player in recent memory. I still miss watching him.

I don't even have to see Barry's highlights to get goosebumps. Guy was on another level.

My wife doesn't watch football but she does watch - and marvels at - Barry Sanders highlights videos.

Probably one of the few instances where the player was more effective in real life than he'd be in the video game.

This is a stupid comment because anyone who followed Barry's career would know that he rarely had long touchdown runs. Barry didn't have elite speed and would get caught from behind more often than you'd think.

The greatest runner of all time makes the cover almost 15 seasons after he retired. Amazing and a fitting tribute.
OT... Barry used to come in to restaurant that I woked in after college back in the 90s. I would speak with him from time to time. He was nice and pretty reserved guy. One night, he went over to my girlfriend at the time who was a hostess...and chatted her up for about 20 solid minutes...really turning on the charm. After he left I asked her what he said and she said that he was just asking what she did outside of work etc...uh huh... nice moves Barry but he didnt score that night.

Love Barry! Greatest RB of all time. Incredible talent.
You can never go wrong with a 10-time Pro Bowl and 10-time All-Pro selection on the cover of Madden, not to mention the image of someone who was the NFL rushing champion four times as well. I still have my Sports Illustrated Kids poster of Barry Sanders, which has him standing with an actual Lion. I recall not being terribly cocerned, however, for I knew Barry could outrun it if necessary, he was that elusive.
I was watching the unveiling last night, and they were going through Barry highlights and an announcer stated,
"When God created Barry Sanders, even he didn't know what he made."
I thought that was the best decription of a player I have ever heard. Barry was something special, and while he may have retired before he could officially go down as the best ever, in my heart he always will be.
Did you make your pinkie pie avatar?

Someone made a MGoUsername just to post it, then was awarded a gazillion points by one of the mods. I wanted to put a disclaimer in my signature line to state all rights to him, but I couldn't figure out the wording to use, so I just said forget it.

WOOOO!!!
Did anyone see the announcement video? How awful was that?

its just a shame that the perpetual Lions ineptitude forced him out of the game early. If the Lions had ever mangaed to put together an average line or an above average QB, Barry would have shattered every rushing record by a mile. Imagine him on Dallas instead of Emmit....
Great, now we have to worry about the Madden curse and Barry getting hurt this season. Dammit!
