OT- Babcock returns to the Joe tonight

Submitted by AlCzerviksRide on

I think its going to be a generally positive response from the faithful tongiht, but I won't be surprised to hear a smattering of boos coming down from the great and fabled section 226b.

Wings win 5-0.  Babcock's Leafs start 0-2.  firemikebabcock dot com is registered.

"Finally"? They've been a hell of a lot better than any other team from this state. Pretty hard to maintain a Cup contender every year with a salary cap. Especially considering they were one of the big boys at the time the cap was instituted, meaning they were set up to be among the teams most negatively impacted by it, just as the teams who were dogshit at the time have been winning Cups the last several years. The fact that the Wings STILL haven't missed the playoffs is pretty amazing.

but I think he was a bit overrated. He was treated like a savior, but he's had numerous Hall-of-Famers on the team throughout his tenure. I was actually most impressed with his coaching over the last two years.

Nonetheless, he was a solid Wing.

Was up in Toronto and those fans are in love with Babcock.  They also think Detroit is looney toons for getting rid of what they feel is the finest talent in the NFL.

Way too big of a fucking deal for the start of the season. Just drop the puck and play the game. Everything is a circus show these days

Nice gesture from the Wings to acknowledge Babcock and very classy from the fans there. And Larkin is just awesome so far. And up 2-0. Couldn't ask for anything more.
