OT - Auburn Themed Stock Car at Talladega
I was enjoying some NASCAR at Talladega until I saw this Auburn themed car driven by Michael Waltrip...
Apparently, Gene Chizik was the Grand Marshall. Feel free to quote this photo...
Gene Chizik: "I told Cam Newton's dad that even for 200 grand he couldn't keep the stock car"
Two scenarios will happen today: 1. The car will eventually crash and burn 2. The car will win the race and at the post race inspection, the car/driver will be deemed found to have cheated but the driver had no knowledge of it. The final race results will still stand.
Fuck Waltrip and Au
F. Auburn. What's next , Waltrip wins the race, Cam Newton comes out of the pit stop out to hug him and celebrate with his $180,000 ?
I wish Michigan would win a few National Championships so we don't have to be so jealous of the schools that do.
I will always hate on schools that are blatantly crooked and engage in massive pay for play schemes that secure them the best players.
last year at 'Dega and there was a Tennessee one like 10 or 12 years ago at Bristol. Also after the VaTech shootings there was a VaTech one for a few races as well. I do believe there was a Michigan one 10 or 12 or 15 years ago, but it was in the Busch Series (pretty much AAA of NASCAR).
EDIT: After being up front for a little while, no one wants to work with Waltrip and the Auburn car. Irony? Foreshadowing? Yes!
EDIT 2: Just went a lap down. Also, a few years ago the driver and team who are now flying the Auburn colors cheated their asses off at the Daytona 500 and got slammed with penalties from NASCAR. Quite hilarious.
But, as was mentioned earlier it would be beyond awesome if the Auburn car won only to be caught cheating on post race inspection but this time be DQ'd.
The Michigan car was around in 2001, looks like: http://cgi.ebay.com/UNIVERSITY-MICHIGAN-NASCAR-BUSCH-SERIES-CAR-/140484832119
Well at least in this case at least we can be sure it isn't helping them in recruiting....
The Rodriguez family watches NASCAR
Rita Rodriguez: "I can't believe the high cost of things these days, Rich...".
Rich Rodgriguez: I hear you...four years ago all it took for Tressel to get Pryor was a couple of dealer loaners, a Hyundai Sonata and the promise of a few tats.

there to take attention away from how terrible the 2x2 racing at Daytona and Talladega really is.

I think the majority of the racing was better (maybe not better, but definitely more drama-filled because of the imment looming 'Big One' ) with the "pack style" racing, but the overall strategy and definitely the endings are better with the "pod style" racing.
