OT Attn cereal aficionados

Submitted by Louie C on
In light of the response to the cereal thread a few days back, I figured I should post this. The other day, the Mrs. came home with a gift from the gods. For a limited time, you can buy a box a Cap'n Crunch that is 100% crunch berries. Getting excited about cereal; is it a sign of the lameness of OP, or the fact that September can't get here fast enough? You decide.

Having said that I have always been a Cap'n Crunch purist - original, no-berries, no nothing. Been about 20 years since I had my last spoonful.

Honey Nut Cheerios, I promise I'll never leave you again. For the record, I'm with SysMark: original Cap'n Crunch all the way, with the occasional Peanut Butter Crunch.

General Mills has a product locator feature. Enter your location information, and bam, you'll be able to find the nearest store that cells Berry Berry Kix! http://consumercontacts.generalmills.com/CrunchProdAvailability/Product… I put my address in and it came up with all Target locations, so you may want to try there!

While Crunch berry sounds good, have any of you tried the Rice Crispies Treat cereal? It's small chunks of rice crispy treats and it is delicious. I'm not the hugest cereal fan, but if I could find that stuff somewhere, I'd be in heaven.

cap'n crunch = crack for kids... i honestly think that they have toned down cap'n crunch from when i was a kid... the wife bought me a box a while ago and it wasn't 100% sugar like it was when i was 7...

Cereal is awesome. I like to store cereal in clear plastic containers and then mix them. Like if you have mostly Kashi Go Lean Crunch, you don't feel so bad adding some Golden Grahams. I have always loved Cap'N Crunch (with crunch berries, of course), but it always made the roof of my mouth kind of sore.

Glad this wasn't about Tru Life and his Cereal + Champagne breakfast. My favorite suggestions for the $5 budget were: "Peanut butta and jelly, that's still hood right there, with a little glass of milk. You rockin'. You want your lil snacks on the side, you got your lil coconut cookies, oatmeal, chocolate chip, know what i'm sayin, butta crunch joints." "Got your Honey buns out there, you know, you might wanna throw one of those down right there." "You got your beef patties on the coco bread"

They used to sell this year round. It didn't sell as well as regular Captain Crunch with Crunch Berries. Less balance in the flavors. Since then, it has come and gone on occasion.

That might be a lawsuit you could actually win! Unlike this one:
On May 21, 2009 Judge Morrison England, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California dismissed a complaint filed by a woman who said she had purchased "Cap'n Crunch with Crunchberries" because she believed "crunchberries" were real fruit. The plaintiff, Janine Sugawara, alleged that after four years of purchasing the product she had only recently discovered to her dismay that said "berries" were in fact simply brightly-colored cereal balls. The judge commented "In this case,... it is simply impossible for Plaintiff to file an amended complaint stating a claim based upon these facts. The survival of the instant claim would require this Court to ignore all concepts of personal responsibility and common sense. The Court has no intention of allowing that to happen."

I'm a huge Cracklin Oat Bran guy. I like most cereals except ones with marshmellows. Heart, stars and horseshoes, clovers and blue moons, pots of gold and rainbows and red ballons never were my thing.
