Understand the economics behind the decision. Michigan receives 3.8M in cash annually from its agreement with Adidas, which is more than any Nike contract (apparel and cash) alone. And that doesn't include the additional 4.4M in equipment the AD receives annually. Might be a money grab, but at the end of the day from a budget perspective it makes sense.

To remember that NIKE dumped us and we didn't dump them. NIKE viewer OSU as a better option and started to cater to them and moved the NIKE camp from Michigan to Ohio. I say fuck NIKE cause they screwed us over.

Our Adidas deal is up after next football season, which means Hacket will likely be the one negotiating our next deal. God help us if he ignores the fans and players and signs with Adidas again. Nike or even UA would be a big step in the right direction for our program.

Basketball got much better with Adidas and the football team won 11 games one season with Adidas.  Get over it.  They are just as good as Nike.

Summer of my sophomore year I stayed in A2. Worked at Eric's Action Sports next door to Thanos Lamplighter. It was kind of a soccer shop. The guy who owned that place was pretty...eccentric. He used to buy stock based on what shoes the kids from NY were asking for. Said he made millions getting in early on LA Gear.

Even though some of the Adidas stuff is nauseating to look at, Nike also makes their fair share of crap. After seeing this, I almost felt bad for MSU...almost.

I really don't believe recruiting has been negatively affected by having Adidas versus Nike. The recruiting classes for football have been really good when not dealing with coaching changes and basketball has landed studs like McGary, Burke and Irvin. What recruits really care about is winning not the jersey. If it were about jerseys Oregon would be God. Notre Dame also recruited well with Adidas and UCLA football is about as good as they've been in my lifetime. So while a kid may prefer Nike if that is what drives them to pick one school over the other then good luck to him because those are interesting priorites.
