This game feels funny to me but i still think we win.
I call it Lions 23-17 over da-Bears.
What do all the other football junkies think?
The Lions don't play until 4pm...I think he was looking for predictions
i'm not as confident in the lions w/o best. i think the lower the score the better for the lions in this one. need a huge game out of CJ. but i think the bears win this one by about 10.
20-17 Lions. I feel like they jump out to a big lead, scoring 14-17 points in the first half, then hold on defensively for the game. The Bears are good, but hopefully this Lions team proves they want it more.
the score right now. Lions by this much --- close coser than the experts think. Lions 21 Bears 14. in my Lou Corso voice
Lee Holtz disagrees.
have the Bears favored
If we're going for a Lee Corso theme...
Calvin Johnson 21, Da Bears 17 (and yay more fantasy points for me ::fingers crossed::)
Without Best the Lions don't have the running game.
...as much as it pains me to say it.
i totally forgot about Best being out!
Lions struggle to run it even when we have him...
I hate to predict a loss but i have to be realistic.
I call it 21-17 Bears now.
Lions struggle to run with Best in the game. His impact is overstated. The matchup that matters here is the Bears O-line vs. Getting Jake Cutler killed.
On another note does anybody have a link for the game?
If our REceivers keep handing the ball away...70-0 Bears
AND if Stafford keeps throwing INTs.
You should pull Stafford after what appears to be two bad bad reads.
This could be going better.
I hate how the Lions run every 2nd and 10.
The Lions are imploding. And the Bears have a lot more to play for today. Bears 27 - Lions 10. The Lions will not catch up to the Bears this time around.
This looks like it's going to be one of those days, I'm afraid.
Not sure why any team would kick to Hester. He is just so deadly. Better off kicking out of bounce
watching every game since Hesters been in the league I don't get it either.....but thanks stubborn NFL coaches for not doing so!!
I love watching the guy. Everytime he catches a punt there's always a chance he's gonna return it. Same with his kick returns. Love Hester!
Out of bounds. As in boundaries...
I'd personally kick it to him have someone toe him up and someone else take out his knees. Not my fault he won't go down.
So, how about that Michigan game yesterday?
I watched it on the television. It was great entertainment
kick it to Hester? Why do it twice?
This I will never understand. Go Bears.
EDIT: make that 3 times. That one almost broke for a TD too. All I can do is laugh.
Looks like da Bears may wind up with more points than offensive yardage. Ugliness!
At half time, the Giants and 49ers each have a Michigan receiver leaning in receiving yards.
They did a piece about the 49ers and their "team" mantra and one of the players said it's about "the team, the team, the team." Nice to see Harbaugh preaching Bo's words.
We need a touchdown here...makes the second half more manageable..
Unless there is a total collapse by the Bears..we will be 6-3.
Could have all but wrapped up a playoff spot with a win today.
I agree with the announcers, I think Stafford needs to lose that glove or something, he's accuracy just isn't what is has been. And it doesn't help Megatron has dropped a couple passes.
some SERIOUSLY weak-ass defense in the last minute of the half.
Play past the whistle gets you fined...what the hell are they talking about
Fumble + replay rules. Where you need a clear and immediate recovery to overturn, so you cover the ball, even if the whistle was blown.
i know that is the intent, but is something wrong with the rules where the outcome of a play is actually determined after the play by an action outside of the play? If I recover the fumble outside of the actual play, its mine, but if I don't, it's yours
I call this stage of the game "the Kabuki time-out dance."
No the Lions aren't for real. They are better, but they are still shit.
What is Stafford trying to do? Make Tebow look like an all pro? Get rid of the fucking glove and play some football you panzy!
I'm not sure how exactly stafford goes back in after two pick 6 in a row and just tons of bad passes.
he's just been terrible all day.
If I was Schwartz, I'd pull him and put in Hill. I could throw better than Stafford is.
When does the mercy rule go into effect for the NFL? Is it 30 points? Jesus.
Sorry....it only occurs after three successive defensive touchdowns....bad break for us
I will say......Bears: A LOT...Lions: not very much.
Thank God for Redzone...cause thats what i be watching now!
I am glad I started the Bears defense.
This is an awful performance by Stafford, but he is just 23 and has played less than 30 games.
Stafford should be pulled for Hill. Those two interceptions were absolutely terrible and he has been off the whole game. I think his shoulder is hurt again because he has had that weird sidearm throwing motion for the past few weeks and I never noticed it at the beginning of the season.
Being as fragile as he is Stafford was probably right not trying for the tackle there. He is a really good QB who is young and not playing his best game tonight.
starts at 9.
If you aren't watching Walking Dead you aren't right.
Appointment TV right there.
TiVo to the rescue
I watch Boardwalk Empire, The Walking Dead, Homeland, and Dexter
AdamSchefter Adam Schefter
Initial tests showed that Bengals CB Leon Hall, who signed a $39 million extension in September, tore his Achilles. Adam Jones in next.
I guess we can just say today isnt their day. Johnson dropped 2 touchdown passes. TE drops another, and stafford isnt as accurate. Its just one of those days. The lions will be alright.
Walking Dead on the replay @11. Then the new series Hell on Wheels (seems to have promise).
But i agree Dude...must see tv...gotta love zombies...
when you are down 37-6 the clock moves like a glacier??
Said 9-7 before the season. Looks about right. Still have a chance at the playoffs. As ugly as today has been, it only counts as one loss. Still 6-3.
Lions are dominating on defense but Stafford and our receivers handed the game to them.
NO REASON to even have Stafford in the game in the 4th.
If he was to get seriously hurt Schwartz would/could/should be out of a job.
WOW. A Bears fan making fun of our QB when you have the ultimate fucking douchebag Quitler on your side. Come back when Stafford decides to snooze on the sideline in the biggest game of his career because of some BS knee injury instead of going back into a winnable game.
That Cutler tore his MCL in the NFC title game, right? And that he did play through it? But when he couldn't plant/throw like he needed to, he got pulled.
Questioning a guy's toughness when he tore an MCL is bush-league. You play behind that O-line for a drive and see how tough you are.
Stafford however acted like a bitch, throwing Moore down by his helmet, then running away from the ensuing scrum. I like Stafford, I think he will be good, but he threw 4 picks today, and pulled some bullshit in that fight.
Tore his vagina! He stayed out and got hammered by his own teammates. He wasn't hurt and never did rehab or have surgery.
His teammates all supported him. He got pulled, not asked to come out. The offense went better after he left, he was injured.
His D ripped him the next day in the press.
Oh man what a comeback, "Detroit is a dirty team just like it's streets". Man you are so good, Sinbad might need an opening act, and you sir seem to have just the talent.
Stafford had his worst day as a pro, and Chicago was clearly the better team today. I also find it funny how Chicago fans praise Cutler, I know the feeling of not having a franchise QB for over 30 years but my god he's a middle of the pack QB. Go ahead and call Fairley and Suh dirtbags, I would gladly take the Lions bright future over what the Bears look like when Urlacher retires and Briggs signs with another team. Since Millen is gone Jerry DeAngelo has taken over the role of worst GM in the league.
I will never understand why people still rip on the city of Detroit, it's gone through a lot and doesn't need any outside negative douchbaggery from people who don't ever go there. Most Chicago fans are all the same, the "I finally care about hockey cause we just won a cup," or the self entitled Bears fans, or even the Hawk Harrelson loving Sox fans. Keep it classy.
Mom is dirty.
Quilter was a pussy is all, not in reference to time missed. He barely got hurt and pusses out of a game that was huge last year. Maybe google....bears fans wanting to kill their pussy qb. That will help ya.
Neither team is going to win anything. The Packers are going to jail sex them, if the Saints or 49ers don't get them first. At least the Lions are improving and building for the future, while the Bears are regressing.
They started off 2-3 and have won 4 straight while Detroit has been fading fast. I think you mixed up the Lions/Bears, big guy.
In term of franchise, yes they are regressing. They are old on defense aside from the safety postion, their offense is decent but nothing to write home about besides Forte. The lions indeed have a brighter future provided they address the O-line issues in the off season. The Lions core nucleus of Stafford (bad game today, yes I know), Calvin Johnson, Jahvid Best, Suh, Levy, and Delmas (all draft picks) are arguably one of the best young units in the league. They will be contending in the north for years to come.
0 wins to 2 wins to 6 wins to 6 wins already.
9 wins to 7 wins to 11 wins to 6 wins already.
To improve on last year the Lions have to win one of 7 games. With the Panthers and Vikings at home.
To improve on last year the Bears have to win 6 of...7 games remaining. With the Chargers, Raiders, Chiefs, Broncos, and Pack on the schedule.
If the Lions make the playoffs, they've made a huge step.
The Bears aren't going to win the division again, and would have to make the NFC Championship game to match what they did last year. Unlikely.
The Bears needed two picks 6's and a punt return to get to 37. Duh Bears had 191 yards of offense and Forte did little. Duh Bears.
Not a good feeling.....
I do not think the Lions are not for real and will fail. F, no playoffs again! The Bears though will implode, because Cuntler is a pussy.
SD is in Detroit, so I'll give the Lions 65% winning change. Even better.
I loved Tom Brady at UM - I love all our players.
But am I wrong to love watching him lose with New England?
Does that mean you didn't watch him & the Pats beat the Jets 37-16?
being injured with not being tough. Sure, Stafford has been hurt quite a bit, but don't forget the game against Cleveland, where he insisted on going back in the game with a separated shoulder to finish off the winning drive.
All guys are different, and I find it difficult to question Cutler's toughness with as much as he gets knocked around in Martz's offense and keeps getting up.
However, when it comes to the playoffs, the menatality has to be different. Remember, Philip RIvers played with a torn ACL in the '07 AFC title game.
Howeva (ala Brian) dont discount the fact that the ACL and MCL support different motions/forces within the knee. Not to downplay what Rivers did (very tough) but you don't need your ACL to throw a football. The ACL helps mainly with cutting and twisting - you often see it torn on a hit from the side. My dad doesn't have 1 ACL (tore it back in high school and they never really repaired it) and he can do everything just fine. But when we used to play basketball, I knew he couldn't cut one direction off that leg, you plant to twist, and it just doesnt work. Also, I dont know if Rivers used a brace or not, but they have braces that prevent your knee from giving out due to ACL injuries. It's what my dad used for 6 months after he tore the other ACL and before he had the surgery.
Basically, I think both of them were tough, but Rivers was tough and able to physically perform. Cutler wasnt. He threw a couple balls that were dead, he couldn't plant and throw.
The defense played a good game. Stafford, special teams and the receivers turned this game into a blow out loss.
Hopefully Stafford will bounce back next week and play much better!
Not sure where all the Bears-Lions hate is coming from. Don't we both just really hate Green Bay?
As a Bears fan, I don't hate the Lions. It's like hating Indiana football.
Those were the real Lions.
I was at the game. It was brutal.
Stafford broke his hand....lol Goodbye Lions!
Fractured a finger on his throwing hand, kind of a big difference. LOLNICETRYTHOUGH.
