OT - April Fools Day Pranks

Submitted by EastCoast Esq. on

What is the best prank you have pulled? Are you planning to do any this year?

Are there any pranks around the interwebs this year that are particularly clever?

How many ways can I avoid doing work on this cold spring morning?

My pal was a campus day tour guide (those are the tours where they take you around all day, eat lunch in the dorms, etc.). We smuggled a friend into her tour group...he hung out with them for three hours, asked questions, etc.

When they got to south quad, two other friends and I ran up, punched him in the stomach, stuffed him into a giant duffel bag, and ran off with him.

Best reaction: one dad says to another dad, "was that your son?"

A simple one:

Find an artist that has a concert soon - particularly one with young fans.

Pick your victim.

Post a Craigslist ad for free tickets to that concert w/ victim's phone number.

--------

I will not be doing this to anyone because it can get VERY annoying. Depending on who/what/where, could get hundreds of phone calls.

I was practicing with this kid named Rick Astley, and he came up with the best idea for an April Fools' Prank that I'd ever heard of . . . and he swore that it would work. But I forgot what it was.

3 years ago my son was just about 3 and a half months old, so we took a picture of him holding up his own ultrasound photo and said that we'd had an oops and were pregnant again. It fooled quite a few of our friends at first.

Female coworker and I told our security guard friend that we are having an affair. We are definately not.

He seems to have bought it so far. I'm excited to see what happens when we tell him at the end of the day.

I pulled one that I had to begin about a month before.

As it turns out, there are places where you can get word scrambles which have no solutions in the English language, so I actually put one on a announcement board in our lunch area and wrote under it "Find the hidden word and will a prize - correct answers eligible for prize drawing on April 1st", asking them to submit the answers to me. This was about three weeks before April Fool's Day, and I expected little participation - I managed to get about 100 replies in an office of about 170, including people a couple levels above me.

April 1st comes and I send an e-mail to the whole workgroup to meet in the lunch area at about 11:30 AM. I thought ahead - the prize was Easter candy and I bought enough for everyone because no one won and I knew it. Everyone gathers in and I begin to pass out candy to everyone, then I stand at the head of the room and thank everyone for their participation but I also mention that everyone who won now has their prize because, "....as you may have suspected by now, the puzzle has no solution in English."

People enjoyed the candy at least. To this day, I have not been asked to organize many events.

I once convinced my brother that Notre Dame had joined the BIG. I even created a whole fake newspaper on my phone and showed him the headline. Then, he went on espn and saw that they did not have it. Then he googled it, and the whole thing was ruined.

Amazon.com is 90's vintage today. Upon going to the site it will look old but then switches to the current setup.

reddit.com/r/apple swapped looks with r/android therefore people are all sorts of confused.

Founders just tweeted a picture of "Bastard In A Box". 28 12 ounce Dirty Bastards in a box. I pray Founders isn't trolling us.

I am about to move my wifes brand new car from the parking lot where she works and video her looking for it and maybe she thinks it is stolen.

Hope I am still married this afternoon.

I used to pull pranks on people all the time . Havent in a very long time . One just came to me the other day so I posted this to facebook at 11:59 last night ..

I just received the biggest surprise ever tonight . Kind of an under statement really ... I just found out I have a son .

Yes. Its hard to believe . I cant believe it myself really ...

Out of the blue I get a message here on Facebook from someone saying I am their father . Apparently when I was 23 and was dating this girl we broke up and she lost touch with me . She had an email address I quit using . I must have ignored her phone calls and changed my number soon after for whatever reason.

I think its when I switched from regular phone service over to Vonage and couldnt keep my old number . She thought i was ignoring her and quit trying to get in touch with me . You would think for something like that there would be a way to get in touch with me. I lived in the same house...

So just like that I have a 20 year old son. Soon to be 21 . Im sure its life changing when you know you will be having a child . Let me tell you , Its the same when you find out after the fact. So Fathers day will have more significance from now on. When is Fathers day ? Has it happened this year yet ? Maybe ill get 20 years worth of socks and or ties ?

Wow. I can be a grandfather now.

Damn just like that I became an old man .

Ok, Im still an old Man . But if you read this far you are an APRIL FOOL.

Haha Suckers

PS , dont blow the ending in the comments. Thanks . Lets see how many people I can fool .

I got a few people so far . Some of them bought it pretty hard . What do you guys think ?

I had a student bring me in a pan of brown E's today. Literally E's cut out of brown construction paper. I failed her...
