OT: Anyone else running the Komen 5k in Lansing on Sunday?

Submitted by HelloHeisman91 on

It's late, I am bored and I can't help but wonder if any other Mgo members may being running the Komen 5k in Lansing this weekend?   I didn't lose my mother to breast cancer but I did lose her to cancer and I am excited that I have raised a little bit of money for the cause again this year.  For all of those that have had to fight the battle themselves or within your family or friends I raise my glass with a defiant and collective Fuck Cancer!

And no, won't be anywhere near Lansing, either.

I will, however declare my total support for you and all who have fought cancer or been affected by cancer.  I doubt there are more than a small handful of MGoBloggers who haven't had to deal with a friend's or family member's battle with "the C"; besides having two 1st cousins who were diagnosed with breast cancer in their late 30's, I lost both my paternal grandfather and then my dad to prostrate cancer and now have an aunt fighting skin cancer.

We're all in this battle together; somehow, some day, cancer must be defeated.  I salute all who do their part, whether in research at U of M or elsewhere, or on the front lines by raising money and awareness by participating in runs and other activities (like what you're doing this weekend).

Yes... F U C K   cancer!!!
