OT and META: Help with creating a MGoLogo / Avatar

Submitted by CooperLily21 on

Calling all computer design specialists!

I need some help and I thought that this might be useful to some other MGoMembers as well.  I want to create a special avatar/logo/picture for use on this site and others as well (Twitter, etc.) but just don't have the technical know-how.  I have a simple design that will take someone learned in all things design about 2 seconds to finish and am wondering if there is anyone that would be willing to help me (and others).  If you're in the business then this might even be a good marketing opportunity for you (?) as I'm sure anyone that uses your services will pay you proper homage.  Some of us might even be willing to pay for your services . . .

Leave a comment below if you have the time and interest in helping me (and others) and I'll find a way to get in touch.  Thanks in advance!

MODS:  Please feel free to delete this as soon as I get a few responses.  I don't want this to clutter the Board but I thought it might benefit some others as well.

See, you already surpassed my abilities . . .

I want to use the maize Block M as a backdrop with "CooperLily21" in blue "Chiller" font superimposed on the "M".  Pretty simple, just text on top of a picture but it needs to be saved in several formats and sizes so that it can be uploaded to various sites like MGoBlog, Twitter, YouTube, etc.

Make the original a .svg file because it distorts much less when scaled. There are a couple of open-source programs that deal with .svg files. After scaling, re-save it as a JPEG to make it usable with those websites. My two cents.

I have a bit of experience making stuff like this, but I am not artistic in the graphic design sense. Someone else can probably sex it up a little more.

I don’t have enough points to post this but I came across this grantland article that I thought was pretty funny.  It lists common college football terms with definitions.

The definition of a Michigan Man is Michigan Man (n.) — scientific term for a particular strain of humanity, quantifiable by n+1, in which n = everybody else.

Here's the link.

How do you guys with mulitple screen names decide which persona you're going to operate under for the day?  Is like when I look into my closet in the morning and have to decide which color shirt to wear?  Or is it more like breakfast choices - hot or cold ceral so to speak?

I'll hang up and listen.

as well as any e-friend, it's my strong suspicion that he only wants to use PGB when reprising his role as moderator (and for the negbangs he loves so much). There's a bit of a disconnect between the PGB persona and the man behind the keyboard; CooperLily21 fits much better, if that makes any sense.

I find it's a hassle to log in on one and then the other, so I'm logged in as Ghost on Mozilla and [my secret identity] on Internet Explorer, and then I just keep MGoBlog windows open on both.  I often lose track of which account I'm on, honestly.

Problem is, Internet Explorer's been crashing my computer recently, so I'm stuck in a ghostly phase at the moment...
