OT: The Americans season finale

Submitted by Hotel Putingrad on
Comrades, another season of the finest show on television concludes tonight. Will Oleg follow Anna Sergeyevna to Nairobi? Will William give up the goods? Will Stan finally bring a bottle of wine with him when inviting himself for dinner? Having two more seasons confirmed leaves a lot for guessing. Here's to a fond farewell.

Mmmm....Keri Russell.   /obligatory

I wonder if this is the episode where Stan starts to figure out the truth about his neighbors.

I can't wait! Feel like there's going to be a death (other than William) but we will see. I hope it's not Oleg. What a fantastic well

Developed character. I feel something crazy is going to happen with Paige. Like her and Matthew go at it ?

Think about who is heading back there (or already there)...Arkady, Oleg, Martha. I don't think it's that far fetched to see some of the next two seasons set in the USSR.

Two more seasons is great for the show. Sepinwall talked to the showrunners about the remaining episodes and what they're thinking. 23 total episodes, 13 next season, 10 in the final season.

Entire season seemed like a set up for the next. I thought for the most part this season was slow and anticlimactic. There should have been more scenes like that dinner scene with Stan and pastor Tim. That should have been a longer scene.

With getting Martha out of the U.S. Those couple of episodes were really well done. After that the tension wasn't there, but I liked the set up for next season with William giving up clues to Stan & Aderholt about who they should be looking for.

I got back into the show this season and it definitely passes the time between sunday nights. But I've had to overcome how the dialogue is delivered by the actors. Every line goes: "Words word wordy worrrrrds [pause] words." It's more grating than vocal fry.
