OT-Alternative to MLB.TV

Does anyone know of an alternative service to MLB.TV? This is the 2nd night in a row that I cannot access the Tiger's game. I called 'customer service' and they basically told me nothing except that I could watch the game later b/c it will be archived. This of course after asking me a million question making sure I knew how to access an actual website.

Has anyone had similar problems with their service? Also, is there anyway in which I can actually watch these games without paying a company to not actually allow me to watch the games?

I know of nothing, but wanted to commend you as you're only about the second person out of about 8 to properly label things pertaining to the MLB as "other" instead of baseball. I will +1 you for being intelligent enough to read the one specific detail.

MLB.tv registers your IP address to a geographic location. If you are within that team's geographic area and that game is on local TV (including FoxSports cable) it will be blacked out on mlb.tv. If this is the case, you won't be able to watch any Tigers games if they are on local TV.

I am on the East Coast. The game shouldn't be blacked out. Its weird too because all other games work except Tiger's games. It seems like quite the coincidence.

mlb.tv just really sucks. I've had a lot of the same problems. Usually I can find a different feed by just googling "tigers stream" or "watch mlb online" or something like that. its kind of a pain in the ass though

Do you have family in Michigan? (or good friends)

If so, get a slingbox and put it in their house. I live in California, but have my slingbox at my dad's house in Michigan. It's attached to a cable box in his house and sends his entire digital cable package to my computer over the internet. I can login to it and watch any channel! It's great because it gives you ALL detroit sports, not just the Tigers, and it's a one time fee! Plus, you can use it on most phones (iPhone, Android, etc)

The game is on MLB Network tonight wich most cable/sat carriers have.

If you can't find a tv, try justin.tv, ustream, or channelsurfing.net they will probably have it.

You can get a temporary free proxy from China or Japan and stop using it after the game has loaded. I have a buddy who does it and it works for him every time because apparently once the stream has been verified and loaded mlb.tv doesn't check your location again. I've never done it myself so I can't really give you too much on the specifics of how to do it. I am so far out of my team's market I never worry about blackouts but my buddy swears by it.

Did you use a credit card to sign up? It could be your billing address. If your credit card you used is linked to a Tigers blackout area, that's most likely your problem.

I've been a pretty heavy user of mlb tv, since I live in Wyoming and we don't even have running water here yet. I've never had an issue with mlb tv other than opening weeks, where the system isn't ready to handle every logging on for opening day. I use firefox and every once and awhile the game doesn't want to play, but after closing the window and re-opening it works.

I live in Tulsa and they consider the Royals, Rangers, Astros, Cardinals, and Rockies all local teams. I have DirecTv so if the Tigers or Cubs are playing any of those teams and the game is local broadcast, I'm not seeing it. That shit pisses me off but I still get most of the games and I love the AtBat app.
