Well it took almost a year but with the 6 or 7 turnovers & 30% shooting Allen Iverson is finally winning games for Detroit. Thank you Allen.
yes plz
is if the Pistons either tank and get a really good odd to get the #1 overall pick(I believe that it's 25%) or they miss the playoff and get incredibly lucky to get the #1 overall pick.
John Wall is a lock to be drafted at #1 overall unless some team pass him up for some reason or he's injured(which he obviously is not right now).
Yesterday was the first time that I was able to see Wall and Kentucky. Wow. They had an incredible start and Wall is easily the best college PG in a long time. The only person who could stop him was himself whenever he would trip making a cut.
i only respect other superfans
Who does John Wall resemble in the NBA today?
D. Wade?
Good:
Speed
Quickness
Shooting ability
Defense (steals)
Runs the break
Explosive to the basket
Clutch
Team player
Bad:
Turnovers...sometimes out of control on the break

Did anyone watch Iverson's return to Philly against Denver? It was awfully depressing watching Chauncey crossing over Iverson and hitting the three.
I'm so glad we traded for him....sigh.
That 3 was beautiful. Considering the way Chauncey was let go, I'm glad he's now in a much better situation. Honestly look at what he's done with the Nuggets. The only other super star on the team is Melo and there like 16-6.

was about dumping salary, not about getting the Answer.

I understand that but I wish they could have dumped another big salary. An all-star point guard is not easy to come by. They should have tried harder to get rid of Rip or Prince. We just saw the Tigers dump salary yesterday and you didn't see them dump their PG/Ace Verlander.

Are you seriously comparing Billups to Verlander?
Yeah I was and with good reason. Certain Positions are more important then others depending on the sport/makeup of the team. Do you think the Pistons would be this bad if someone other then Billups was traded was traded for A.I.? Say it was Prince and Rip? The two of them could easily replaced in free agency and the draft always has a handful of sharp shooters and skinny 3's.

So an aging, past his prime PG with a big contract is comparable to young cy-young candidate pitcher who hasn't even hit his prime yet?
The Pistons weren't going anywhere with or without Billups and they made a move to dump salary. They might not have been as bad, but they weren't going to compete with Cleveland, Boston, or Orlando.
I will give you the aging point guard. But to say he is past his prime may be a bit premature. Chauncey finished 6th in the NBA MVP voting out of 12 people receiving votes. Verlander finished 3rd out of 5 in the AL voting. Verlander has more of his career in front of him, but you can't say that Chauncey isn't an all-league caliber PG.
It sucks knowing how good Billups is but ultimately we were going nowhere & that 20 mil in cap space was needed to start building for the future. I just think everybody thought AI had more left in his tank and obviously he had nothing. His game is garbage without his elite athleticism. If we had drafted Bosh the whole picture would be different but that didn't happen so since those guys were all getting old and seeing the end of their careers it was nice not to drag it out longer than we had to. Hopefully they can make some more moves and in a couple years be back to making some noise. I just hope that if they find a way to clear more cap space they don't go after Bosh now and give him max money. Hes good but not max money good. That Swede is GOOD. Wish they would have taken Blair instead of Dejaun with that other pick.
but the Villaneuva contract is disappointing. He hasn't really shown to be much more than role player. I don't think it would take much to argue that Jerebko is already better than him.
"There was a time I could have been mistaken for Burt Reynolds. I had a moustache and so did he. But he was the number one star in the world, so there wasn't really much confusion."
The Jerk has definitely been a surprise this year. International players are hit or miss and this young man seems to have a bright future ahead of him in the NBA.
