You act as if Smyly is great. He's not. He's been exactly average since the All-Star break.
Leyland made the right move. Avila/Veras made a terrible decision and pitch. You cannot blame Leyland for that.

every game is feasible. Smyly, Veras, and Benoit all had solid to good numbers this season, I don't fault Leyland for using any of them.

This is the right thing to bitch about, you can't throw 3 straight curves in the same spot in one AB. Bury it with 2 strikes and maybe you get the swing and miss, but certainly don't hang it up in the zone.
