Per Meinke's twitter, Saban says he left because of 'personal reasons'. WHOA.

LSU loses a cornerback, then Alabama has to give up a cornerback.  It was through the Baton Rouge Treaty of 1731 that Alabama obtained access to Mobile Bay for seagoing trade with the rest of the non-SEC world.

Everyone keeps talking about how for each Bama player that gets drafted another superior athlete is poised to take over the spot. At this rate (WR Black out for 3-4months) and now Dixon, they seem to keep loosing valuable depth.

Dixon's departure still leaves them with Dee Milliner, John Fulton, Renzell Watkins and Deion Belue as corner possibilities, so they still aren't in bad shape at this position. Dixon was probably not going to start, by many accounts that I have read, but as the article points out, he was well-regarded and probably will sting a bit if Alabama somehow racked up injuries in the defensive backfield.

Still, I wish the kid the best of luck wherever he ends up. The ESPN article said it was "family reasons", so hopefully things turn out OK there as well.

Saban or Izzo? I often interchange them for one another whenever I conjure the thought of an asshole.
